I'm still bitter. Picture me 7 mos. pregnant, dark evening, in the pouring rain, an hour before closing time on the last open day before Christmas to buy some buttons for a sweater I knitted and needed to finish for Christmas. Then keep in mind I had spent $300, yes $300 on yarn at this very store to make the sweater. The buttons came to about $20 and she refused to let me use my credit card since her policy is $30 minimum for credit cards. I was forced to get in the car and find an ATM and come back with cash. She paid the price. I will NEVER support a business woman with such stupid business practices.

I have tried to go to Elf Hand four times, and even though the first three times I showed up during their posted open hours, no one was there and the business was closed. The fourth time, a friend called ahead and they were open--so keep that in mind if you do decide to visit.

The shop has lots of nice yarns, but very high prices compared to other yarn stores in the area. On top of that, the owner (who runs the shop) is the type of person who will engage you in a coversation and not let you get away--instead of helping my friend learn to use DPNs, she ended up criticizing her knitting. I will not return.
