As a pet nanny, I was sent here for a client to buy a particular food brand for her cat. I've returned many times since then to grab miscellaneous things for other pets I care for! The location is convenient and I appreciate the courteous staff.

The store is well-maintained, I can tell with the way they organize the cages and keep them clean. For me, this is a very admirable aspect of this store.

This place has everyting you need. It is a bit pricey, but good selection. I like coming here, especially when I have my boyfriends credit card.

These guys suck! I have been going there for over a year buying their expensive cat food, litter, and all my cat needs. The last time in I purchased a case of cat food for 35 bucks and my cats wont eat it. I bring the majority of the case back and ask to swap out the remaining cans for a flavor they like. IM TOLD THEY NEED A RECIEPT!!!! WHO KEEPS CAT FOOD RECIEPTS? Are you joking? I've spent over a thousand dollars at this place in the past year and they can't swap out 15 dollars worth of food without paper documentation? What a joke. Pay too much for cat food elsewhere and do yourself the favor. Amateurs.

This is certainly a great alternative to Pet Co. The staff is knowledgable and friendly, and they keep a lot in stock. We've been able to find stuff for all of our pets, and the prices are reasonable, too.

Pros:
- They carry a wide variety of premium foods and non-clay litters, most of which are unavailable at chain pet stores.
- You can get some good deals with their sales flyer/coupons (e.g. $7.99 for Swheat Scoop litter that normally costs $12.99).

Cons:
- Some of their normal prices are quite high compare to other local pet stores.
- The friendliness of the staff is a inconsistent - sometimes they can be attentive and nice and other times they ignore you completely because they are too busy chatting with other staffers.
- Some of the staff is math challenged. For example, I was overcharged once and it took me and a 3rd person several minutes to convince the cashier that 3 x $8 = $24 and not $34.
- My biggest complaint is that the staff seems to know little to nothing about the products they sell. I've asked a variety of questions about products from the food they carry to the litterboxes they sell and they always seem clueless. I don't expect the staff to be experts but I've asked fairly simple, straightforward questions that I think they should be able to answer by just working there for more than 2 weeks. Since Urban Tails opened on Beverly, I prefer to shop there because their staff, especially the owner, is much more helpful and knowledgeable about the products they carry.

This is one of those rare pet stores where the staff is helpful and seem to love their job. On the weekends, they have pet rescue organizations set up for adoptions. If you get their circular in the mail, don't throw it away, the coupons in there will save you tons of $$.
