Great Pad Thai

by Ryan O. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,248

Pad Thai is always my favorite when I go to Thai restaurants. This place puts the right amount of sauce and the service is really good. The waitress filled my water at least 4 times while I was there for an hour.

Absolutely amazing!

by ASGopt

I got a pamphlet for this restaurant in the mail. Normally I don't check out restaurants based on fliers but I was craving Thai food so I decided to go there. Took a while to find, and seeing the outer appearance made me not want to go in.

When I went in, I was surprised. The restaurant is beautiful. I ordered a few appetizers and the pineapple shrimp rice. I have never eaten Thai food so perfectly made. And their service is crazy. I don't think my glass of iced tea ever got to halfway before it was refilled.

I would recommend the wontons and the chicken satay. Definetly a must visit!

Pros: Great food, service, appearance

Cons: Not a great area, sometimes hard to find parking

Best Thai in town

by CSMobileUser

I had seen this place over and over and never really had the desire to stop and eat there. The location is odd, the surrounding stores are old, but man oh man I had been missing out. Don't judge a book by it's cover really applies. The d??cor inside is beautiful, warm, and inviting. The food is delicious and a great price. My husband didn't like Thai food and he took me there one day just to satisfy my craving for Thai food. He loves there food!! He can't say he doesn't like Thai food anymore. The house special fried rice is the best! The rib eye Satay always juicy and tender. Everything made fresh to order. The service is great, always nice and polite. Their orange and lime drinking water is refreshing. This place is great! If you live in town or nearby, you should make a stop and try it."

Great customer service

by jjbart

Tthe thai food is great. It is soo authentic, that you feel like you are eating in Thailand! The atmosphere is really nice, and I like their background music. However, there customer service is a little bit foreign to me. The waitreess are too friendly. I am not use to this service, and it makes me feel obligated to tip them well. But otherwise this resteraunt is great.

Pros: Great food, and great ambience

Cons: Too friendly service by the waitresses

THE BEST PLACE TO GO!

by crazymandi143

I have been ordering from this place since it opened, and never have I been dissaointed! The food is always delicious, and the service is fantastic! I finally got to visit the restaurant for the first time two weeks ago, and was so impressed with how beautiful it was inside! I love how the staff remembers its regulars, even if we always order delivery!! I have tried almost every dish- each one is my favorite! I have recommended Narai Thai to so many friends and family members and even they agree! This is the new D-Town Hot Spot!! Ps- Try their Signature Drinks.. expecially their Sangria!

Pros: EVERY DISH IS AMAZING!

Cons: NONE

Highly Recommended! Cozy and delicious!

by AllAboutGoodFoodInTheHood

I live in Downey and I am very impressed with this restaurant. The food is flavorful and the place is cozy. It has become one of the local favorites! It's decent enough to bring a date and is good for family gatherings. I have become a regular customer there and have never been disappointed.

Pros: flavorful food, cozy setting

Cons: the service could be a bit slow when they are busy.

Good Food, Nice Place

by EatYourHeartOutEveryday

My husband , toddler daughter and I ended up eating here after passing by it so many times. We love Thai food but given the location in the frumpy strip mall, it never attracted us much. We were very surprised when we walked in to see how nice it is inside. The service was good and the food was very tasty. The only drawback was that the portions seemed small. Overall good but we'd rather drive to our favorite Thai Restaurant to eat next time even if it's a little farther and in a different city.

Pros: Nice Decor, Ok Food

Cons: Ugly location, server had difficult time communicating with us, slow service

you would pass it by

by joeyflower

Great place in Downey! we had ginger mushroom beef and BBQ chicken which was tender and juicy. Also had pineapple fried rice really tasty but too many raisins. Really like the decor and service is great very attentive staff. Can't wait to go back!
It's a really cozy place to meet up with friends or just a dinner for two.

Pros: really yummy food, great staff

Cons: kinda small portions, in a not very attractive shopping complex

Good Cozy Place for Thai

by heavendelivered

I liked this place very cozy feel to it with fresh flowers. Very good Service with a smile always and food is cooked fresh daily. Quality of food is not the best but price is reasonable and it's good food. I loved their thai iced tea. Family owned - very friendly.

Thai food rocks!

by blizzitiniwahine

Well...how should I start this. I started giving stars to this restaurant as soon as I step inside. As I walked in, the waiting staff greeted me with the biggest smiles, the music was inviting, the smell of the Thai food and the ambience were perfect. We ordered the lemongrass stick as an appetizer (which I have not seen before, it's served on a stick of lemongrass with sweet sauce on the side), and it was delishhh! Their BBQ Pork was great with the special tangy, spicy sauce. And we ordered the spicy noodles with beef which totally hitthe spot! ;) It's a nice mellow, could-be-casual, could-be-date-worthy dining place, friendly staff, healthy food and good energy. Oh! And don't forget to try their fresh mango sticky rice, it's soooooo good (and seasonal!) get it while it's there!.
Happy eating!
:)

Yummy Pad Thai

by chubschubelly

Pad Thai is usually the easiest dish to order when you're not sure what else to get from the menu, so you would think that most Thai restaurants would be able to get it right - but they manage to mess it up anyway. Not Narai Thai in Downey, though. They get it just right! A perfect blend of noodles, tofu and sauce. Plus, they put the crushed peanuts on the side, just in case you fdont want it all over your food. Probably the best pad thai I've had in a while. Definitely going back.

Pros: Tasty food and vegetarian friendly

I love this restaurant! Definitely one of my favorites.

by jennifr001

This is my favorite Thai restaurant. The place is very nice inside and the ambience is great, it has a very cool vibe. The staff is pretty attentive and let's not forget about the food. Oh the food! I had lemongrass stick chicken for appetizer all the time and it's delicious! For salad I recommend the "Grilled Chicken Salad" it's zesty and on the light side. For dinner I usually get the "Soulful Steamed Fish," it's like a party in your mouth! no kidding, it's a little spicy and a bit tangy. For the curries, I really like their jungle curry, I've never seen this type of curry in any Thai restaurant I've been to. It's not heavy because it doesnt' have any coconut milk but the taste is awesome. Get it spicy and you'll be on fire! I truly enjoyed this restaurant, and would highly recomend it to anyone.

Pros: Great food. Awesome prices.

Deceiving...in a good way!

by agentdinah

Don't let this place fool you! Located in a strip mall, It looks very unassuming but the moment you walk in, you know you're in for some quality Thai. The space is airy and bright. The staff is quietly friendly. Fresh flowers adorn each table and at night this place takes on an intimate candle-lit vibe, making it a great date spot! I highly recommend the Lemongrass chicken stick appetizer. Their sangrias are also yummy. For a caffeine kick, try the iced Thai coffee. Oh, and best of all, the prices are great. Very affordable and you get a lot for your $!!! This place is too good to keep a secret.

Pros: Ambience, plenty of parking, they serve alcohol. great staff, great prices

Cons: Downey is a little out of the way but it's worth the drive!
