Worst dry cleaning experience ever. Terrible customer service and the owner, Bob Strong, should never interface with the public. I took in my son's suit to be cleaned for simple cake frosting stains along with other clothes. The employee and I went over all the pieces of clothes pointed out spots to be cleaned thoroughly. A day later, I received a call telling me that there was discoloration on my son's jacket. They brought it back to the store and there was blotches of discoloration on the back that I had never seen before. The employee told me that there was no documentation of the blotches when I brought them in.I was upset and asked to speak to the owner. Bob and I spoke and what a horrible experience that was. All of a sudden, he claims that 2 employees saw the discoloration but never documented it in the records.....hmmm? Worst part is he was yelling at me and practically accused me of knowing the jacket was stained when i dropped it off. I suggested to Bob that clearly he doesnt understand the clientel that he is dealing with in the Blackhawk area. I would wash my clothes by hand rather than take them to Country Club Cleaners in Blackhawk. Can't believe their doors are still open.

Update: I learned from the company (due to the reviews posted) that the hat took a long time to clean, which is why it took so long to get to me. The problem was that I was never informed of that. Communication broke down big time and left me feeling very frustrated.

The quality of the work is good, but the communication can make all the difference. Below is my original experience.

I recently had a terrible experience with Country Club Cleaners in Danville. I took in three jackets and a hat to be cleaned on Wednesday. On Thursday the clothes were ready for pick up, but the hat was missing. They assured me that I could pick up the hat the next day free of charge.

I went back in on Friday to pick up my hat and they didn't have it (yet, they assured me). So I left my number for a call back since we would be out running other errands. I was told I would receive a call in approximately 45 minutes. Two hours later we had to call them and they still didn't know where the hat was. By the time they called us back and we got the message they had closed so we had to wait until Saturday.

I called them in the morning to find out when the hat would be available and, again, I was told they would have to check and call me back. Again I was gone before the call came and they told my wife it would be Monday by the time the hat would be ready.

On Monday I called to make sure the hat was there and left a message asking for an immediate call when they got the message. 45 minutes later I called and talked to a person who apparently hadn't listened to the messages.

At this point the hat was ready, so I said: "I've had a terrible experience as a customer, what can you do to make this right?" The response: "Um" "I have a suit that needs altering, perhaps you could do that for me to help change my awful experience with your company?" "Uh, I'll have to check and call you back."

About ten minutes later I got the call that the owner of the store wouldn't do anything beyond comping me the $2 cleaning charge to make up for my horrendous experience so far. So, I'm sharing the story with the world.

My hat came back clean. But I shouldn't have to make a half dozen trips and at least as many phone calls in order to get a clean hat. I took it there to save myself the hassle of cleaning it myself - oops. If you care about being treated with respect and being contacted in a professional, timely manner, I would avoid Country Club Cleaners. They seem to have no idea how to treat an unhappy customer.

I understand mistakes, that happens, but own up to them.

Pros: close

Cons: awful etiquette, poor customer service,

These guys don't know cleaning. I gave up taking the same shirts there for laundry - even with the free redo. The blatantly use water that is too hot and an iron that is also too hot for quality shirts and they ruined a brand new black shirt I had handed in for washing after having only worn it once!

find somewhere else - this place will introduce creases into your shirts that you never knew existed!

Avoid!
