I dropped a suitcase off at Seifers for repair in early July and knew it would be ready on 7/24. I have been attempting to pick up my suitcase since that date. They were gone on 7/26 & 7/27. When I attempted to leave a voice mail message on their phone today I was unable to since the messages were full. Where are these people? I leave for Europe in less than a week and I need my suitcase. HELP!!!

One June 11, 2010 I dropped off a tote bag for repair. At that time I paid, in advance, $25.00 and was told it would be ready on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. I arrived at the shop at around 1:30 pm on that day and it was closed. A passerby advised that the owner had been in the store but had to leave to attend a family matter. On my second visit, again during the posted hours of operation, they were closed. I attempted to call, no response to my voicemail. I have tried to pickup my totebag on 5 occasions, each consuming my entire lunchhour. I have resorted to calling the dry cleaner that is next door to Seifer's to see if he is in the shop (she has been very helpful). I was able to catch him is the store on one of my attempts (July 6) but he was not able to locate my bag, holding others and asking if I'm sure the one he held is not mine. I described my bag and he then "recalled" that he had taken it home to his workshop and would have it ready for me the following day and that he would call. He has not called and again, today, I used another lunchhour trying to catch him in the shop but it was closed. His handwritten sign stated he will be open on Friday 7/16 at which time I will demand reimbursement of the charges for repair and compensation for the lost bag.

I??m baffled by the highly negative comments posted here, and can only assume there must have been extenuating circumstances. I have had luggage repaired here in the past and the service has been excellent, friendly, and on time, and the workmanship good. Just two weeks ago I took in a wheelie that needed new wheels put on. I was asked to pay the full price of $55 in advance (a very fair price, given the labor involved) and told the bag would be ready one week later. On the morning of the completion date, the proprietor phoned me to say not to come in before 3:00 PM, since it would likely not be finished by then. At 2:00 PM he called me again to say it was ready. I collected it later that afternoon. The work was of good quality, and I am completely satisfied. Keith Devlin, Palo Alto.

Brought in my TravelPro 22" suitcase on 4/10/09 to have a pullout handle replaced. First mistake: paid in cash for a discount given that day. Today is 7/28/09. I still do not have my bag and trying to contact Richard is somewhere near impossible. On the few instances when he picked up his phone he always said he would get back to me--never! I am ready to take this to BBB. By: sjb

I was referred to this repair store by Victorinox to repair a zipper and clasp on a roller bag. I brought the item in on 5/9/09 and was told it would be repaired in one week. I let them know I had a planned vacation at the end of June and needed the bag before then. I returned a month later and they had not even looked at the bag, and claimed they needed to order the part and it would be available the following Tuesday. By the way, I drove an hour in one direction to get here. They did not even give a courtesy call to let me know of the delay. And, they were rude and didn't even offer an apology. I never got the promised phone call the following week. I called them a week later, which took days to get a hold of anyone as they rarely answer the phone nor have a message machine. When I got a hold of someone, they came up with some bit about not having the part in stock and would need to send the bag back to the maker, who would provide a brand new bag. I reminded them of my trip planned in 2 weeks and they promised me they would ship it back to the maker that day and ensure overnight delievery of a new bag to my house no later than one week later. It is now 7/10/09, I am back from my vacation, and still no bag. I would have been better if I kept my broken bag and used stapples to repair the zipper. Seriously, I am out $400 and don't expect to ever get my luggage back.

I was referred to this store by Victorinox to repair the handle on a 24" carry on luggage. I brought the item in on 11/25/08 and was told that I would have it back in 2 weeks. I returned to pick it up 3 (three) weeks later, and it was not ready yet I did not even receive a courtesy call to notify me. At the time, I was told my handle is backordered and I should receive a call on the following Monday. That week came and went, yet no phone call. I called and left a message, yet still no return call.

Today is 1/04/09, and I've left numerous messages with none returned, and I still have yet to get my luggage.

Absolute horrendous service and would never use this shop again.

i have read some reviews on seifers luggage's info and am very disappointed, I have been a customer of seifer's luggage for over 15 yrs.and have had great service some I have paid and some Mr. Seifer's has done for free.I to have had luggage that was under warranty or had to have parts ordered and was told that nothing was ever sent or ordered but come to find out it to be untrue as a one time self-employed person we all know how big companies always blame the small co.for things that have not been done, but this store owner has been great with me and my friends even when he is compelled to having a smile knowing his wife is ill and solely trying to get things done against the cooperation with companies that just don't care as much as this person.I know you may look at he not being there as his hrs. state but maybe consider that the luggage companies are not always being there when he sends your repairs to them.

My experience with Siefers started out very favorable but went sour from there. I brought in a bag that the handle needed to be repaired. I was called back and told they couldn't get the necessary parts to repair it, so the company will be replacing my bag since it was under warranty. I was told it should be delivered to me within 10 days at my home...Which I thought was wonderful!! Well 3 months later I finally got my bag. I phoned and phoned and phoned to Siefer's and my phone calls were never returned. If I was lucky enough to talk to them they were very pleasant, but never followed through with calling me back. Finally I got a call from Samsonite and they told me that they just received the replacement paperwork and within a week I had my new bag. It was a very frustrating experience. I am self employed also and would never not return one of my customers phone calls, especially when they keep calling me. Next time I will just deal directly with Samsonite!!

I have been looking for a repair center for the longest time. finally i have found one with excellent service, and i was very satisfied when i recieved my luggage. They had very quick service, and the prices are very resonable. I would recomend it to anybody who wants to get their luggage repaired!

Seifers leather Shop does a great job repairing luggage. It is much cheaper to repair it than replace it. In addition to fixing broken zippers, hanldes and tears, they can also fix the extending handles.

Recognizing that it must be tough to get by as a tiny mom and pop shop doing luggage repair, I must say my experiences as a customer have not been favorable. Store hours are often not consistent with postings. I had to return on 4 separate trips --- al during posted store hours --- to retrieve my luggage. Once a zipper repair was just tacked, and the threads fell out on the first day of use.
