This is the place I recommend to a friend and was recommended to me by a friend.
We bought several bikes and equipment at Sharp bicycle. My experience was absolutely positive and I have nothing negative to say about the shop. We were looking for a road bike for my fast growing 14 year old son and wanted something that lasts for a while. We were shown a last years model saving us a lot of money and Matt Sharp fitted my son professionally on a bike that will last him several years. And yes, he will refit him when he has grown out of the old fit.
Sharp spent hours helping us to find the best bike for the money. They also exchanged parts to make them fit to my body (long legs, short torso) so I can ride without pain - priceless. When I wanted a bike computer with a different strap for the heart rate monitor, they talked with their rep and got me what I wanted at no extra charge.
Sharp takes a lot of time to give the best advise and service possible and sometimes it takes a few minutes until they are done working with another customer. Don't worry you will receive the same attention as the previous customer. Just say "hi" when you walk in the shop and be sure they have seen you.
Expensive? No, actually not. Go on the Trek website and compare the MRSP with their prices. They sell below MRSP + free professional fitting + excellent advise + superb post sales service.
This place competes on quality and service at an excellent price. If you think other places are cheaper do a true side by side comparison, then add the extra services, especially the fitting, and you decide.

I thought they were sexist too. And arrogant. The people were not helpful. I didn't feel that my questions were welcomed, and they seemed annoyed when I brought in my kids' bikes to get their flat tires fixed. Not a friendly LBS (local bike shop).

I bought my bike (a fabulous lemond) from Sharp a few years ago--they have terrific components and gear --whatever you'd need for a high end road bike. On the negative side--the men who work there are not very helpful--one is extremely arrogant (and I thought possibly sexist). And I am not that sensitive or hard to please, but it is werid to walk into a store and stand at the counter trying to buy something for like 10 minutes and have people look at you but not ackknowledge you.
