Beware of Valentia!

? Valentia complex behind UTC mall is an extremely noisy place to live. The noise is from every which direction. Additional Super loud noise for the units that are near the exits that can keep you up all night long. You can never have a good night sleep in that beautiful high ceilings bedroom of yours that you pay so much for.

? They always offer the same units at lower prices than what the current tenants pay for.

? The out door grill is always either too dirty to use or out of gas. The business office consists of one fax machine that is kept locked and you can only fax to local 858 area code. There is one pritner but you'll have to provide your own paper.

? Bathrooms Flooding is always an issue. If you take a long shower, the downstair unit will start leaking.

? It gets tricky when renting an apartment there. For instance on Craigslist.org they continuously advertise their apartments at lower 'special' rate just to get you interested. Then when one actually goes in person to the leasing office, they say something like "oh that one has been rented out but we have these other ones that are available for rent" but ironically they're all more expensive than the ones that were advertised even though they??re the same.

? Keeping your lease is even trickier. Once you decide to take one and move in, they make you sign a contract that indicates that the month-to-month price of the apartment that you're leasing is at some certain amount (up to $1000.00 more a month) and they give you a choice of 6 or 9 months leases to pick from. Once your lease is up every six months they raise the rent drastically. Once they lock you into a high rent, you??ll only be given an 11 or 12 month lease option. And if this gets to you and you finally decide to move out before you go broke;

? You??d better be ready to fight to get your deposit back, because they??ll chip it off as much as they can for extra cleanings or as they call it light touch ups that actually never take place. Be sure to insist in getting a walk through after you move out and clean your apartment, take photos if you can.

? Even if your lease expires you??d need to give exactly 30 day notice before the expiration date otherwise (even if you give 29 day notice it won??t count) and you??ll be charged for another month.

? The office will not remind you of any of these, since it??s in their interest if you forget about all these, so they can charge you more.

My experience was not a positive one. At the time I lived there, this complex rented the apartments immediately surrounding mine to small groups of college students who split the rent three or four ways. Our neighbors upstairs and downstairs were up until the wee hours of the morning, playing music and using their exercise machine directly above my apartment. I finally got tired of complaining to management and moved out.

While on the generally more expensive side, renting at Valentia Apartments is still very appealing. The floor plan that particularly caught my attention is the three bedroom with loft. The mater bedroom is amazing, with vaulted ceilings and luxury bathrooms that boast a jacuzzi tub in addition to a shower and two sinks. This is dream living as far as apartments go!

These are amazing apartments. Everything about them is brand new. The exterior is beautiful, and the inside glows white. Lots and lots of storage space, with huge walk in closets, and huge kitchens! These are really great luxurious apartments, with all the fixings- pool, spa, etc. And there is even a washer and dryer in unit.
