Really good Indian food! The people in the kitchen have soul! Nice distinctive flavors and variety. It is nice to go here to eat but we also get the food to go sometimes. Very, very good.

Finally, good Indian food in L.A.

by Marcus H. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,254

My part of Los Angeles has a lot of fantastic restaurants of all sorts, which is what makes the relative scarcity of decent Indian food so strange. Fortunately, there is the All India Cafe on Santa Monica Boulevard. There's plenty of food for vegetarians and carnivores alike, since Indian cuisine is one of the very few places where vegetarians don't suffer. I'd recommend the Lamb Korma and the Shahi Paneer. Prices are reasonable, and the service is good.

Very good indian restaurant in southern californian in terms of food and service

by satnam

I regurlarly eat my lunch out but always dissapointed with the food until i found ALL INDIA CAFE,my soul was satisfied with the quality food they prepared was execellent and server was very courteous and polite.I was served by a original indian gentleman wearing a colourful turban AND ALWAYS SMILE.It looks like they really have some culture and not like us.My office is close to santamonica beach and i think this is a convenient location and affordable. I recommend this restaurant to all my friends and others to go for lunch or you can order a delivery.enjoy folks and bon appetite

It was OK

by mjc2007

After the reviews I read I thought this place would be great, it was just ok. The Indian Chai Tea was the best thing I had. The food was pretty bland... nothing compared to Bay Area Indian food.

INCREDIBLE!

by radiancelee

If not for the word of mouth, we would have never discovered this gem of an indian restaurant, since it is so well hidden and understated in an ugly cheap lookin' strip-mall on samo blvd. but WOW, did not expect to be so impressed! the coconut infused curry, very fittingly named NIRVANA chicken, i felt like I was in heaven! And the tender Bombay chicken with mango rub on it, my goodness, stop it. The atmospehre is cozy, cool red saris are hung from the ceiling, warm lighting, friendly service and just real people, no snobbery, just real indian people (always a good sign to have a mother tongue covet your restaurant's food in my opinion) and loads of laid-back eclectic people. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Chai for everyone!

Pros: Nirvana Chicken!. Chai, Pistachio Kulfi

Cons: Mini-mall exterior (might make it easy to drive on by it) - so unassuming.

Nice surprise

by llyonize

I just had indian food for the first time the other night. I was really surprised how much I liked it. The nan bread is so good and I had the best tasting curry chicken - not spicy at all like I was expecting.

Bad Customer Service

by dulcedeleche9

I went to try out this restaurant after reading the great reviews that it received. I ordered a bhel puri and when I got home it didnt have two of the ingredients listed on the take-out menu. I called them and they said one was mistakenly written on there (chickpeas) and that the potatoes were in there. I found one tiny potato! In short, I paid close to $6 for some crispy noodles and chutneys. I thought I was about to discover a gem but I sure was wrong. I'd probably give it another shot but was not pleased with the customer service this time.

Pros: good variety of dishes

Awesome food, great service

by think4leafclover

I went there last night, and the food was amazing! There was a wide selection for dishes for vegetarians, which even my meat-eating boyfriend said were delicious. The waiters were very nice, the food was served promptly after we ordered, and the restaurant is well-decorated. And the place smells so good!

Pros: Food, service

Awesome Indian take out, free delivery.

by addicted2food

We order from this place at least once a month when we're craving Indian food. The food is good, prices are reasonable, and delivery is free and prompt. Our favorite dishes are shahi paneer, nirvana chicken, and samosa. Garlic naan is tasty. Only con is that some dishes although described differently, actually taste very similar.

Pros: Food, Delivery

Just as good as the Pasadena location.

by intlfoods

It's the sucessor to the Pasadena location and of course our top pick of Indian cuisine with Akbar! Again the food is very authentic and their naan bread is like cotton and never filling!

Pros: Very good food

Cons: Parking
