This is a gem in Mission Valley. The store's decor is inspiring (can they come do my house?!) and it makes me want to take every piece home with me. The staff has been extremely helpful during purchases and often go above and beyond when

If I could give this store NEGATIVE STARS, I would!! We spent a small fortune in this store furnishing my son's apartment. He really liked the modern look and masculine feel of the pieces he picked out. After all, it IS a beautiful

We have bought eight pieces of furniture and numerous accessories from Hold it and have always had good service when buying however when the furniture has broken that has been a different story. We had an office chair break after 1 year and this was replaced however the replacement broke after 18 months and we were told that nothing would be done. On asking a second time we were given a gift card for part of the value of the chair. A neighbor had the same chair from this store which also broke in the same way. Soon after, a lounge chair broke (after less than 3 years of use) and we have again been told that the store will not do anything to repair this. In addition it was implied that we had already received a gift card for this breakage which of course was the gift card from the broken office chair. This does not indicate good record keeping. These items broke due to poor quality and I cannot believe that this store does not realize the value of looking after its customers particularly as the repair will be fairly inexpensive. We will certainly never shop there again and will make sure that our downtown neighbors are aware of the risk in doing so. On a positive note we looked elsewhere for a $1000 rug that we had been going to buy from Hold It and found it online for $350 less so the bad service actually paid off for us!

I almost allowed this company to send me to a bad place. But I'm better than that. I will say, we went into this store, pay for a product and was told 2-4 weeks for delivery. Over 9 weeks later, we still haven't received it. We've experienced some of the worst customer service I have ever had and we will not be going back to this store. I can't say enough, how BAD this experience has been for us. I've never been in a store where the only person that will help you find out what's going on with an order is the person you purchased it from and that person is hardly ever there and is not good at responding to phone calls and emails. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU GO ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR PURCHASE.

I think this place has high end fruniture with HORRIBLE personnel. I have bought several items from the store. The largest being an itallian leather couch. It cost $5,500 and took 4 months to recieve it. The owner ended up waiving the delivery which was appreciated. I called several times because it was really hard going 4 months withough a couch. Noboday seemed helpful or even seemed like they cared. The owner also ended up handling my sales since my rep quit. He was nice and professional however I haven't figured out yet if the people there are just so incredible miserable that they take it out on customers or what their deal is. Either way...this store is super expensive with no deals, sales, bargins or flexibility. The last purchase I made was a table. I had been in to look at hte table about 6 times before purchasing. The woman sales rep was so incrediblly rude that I didn't even want to talk to her. I was hoping she wouldn't even recognize me at the time of my purchase. As I sat down with another rep she began to inturrupt to tell me how she had talked to me before. I wanted so badly for her to just go away. I wanted to say look lady Ive talked to everyone in this store. She had made up some lie about how she had signed me up on an email list for a particular item that I wanted as a discount. After I had spoken to the warehose men I realized there is no such thing. Either way, I bought my $600 table and took off work in the morning to drive to the warehose to pick it up. I got there and they said sorry we don't have it in stock. I waited 2 days to pick it up after my rep told me he would call ahead to ensure success. The warehose men then gave me the phone to speak with "the girl" again. Even though she wasn't my rep she was the only one available. So she was rude and told me I could wait another 2 weeks for the table. I told her to forget it and refund me! Im over the overly expensive store who doesn't know how to treat customers. During this economy the last thing we should be spending money on is overly expensive fruniture. Especially to help out those that do not appreciate the sale. I would rather buy from anywhere else. I told the warehouse guys that this palce doesn't have it together. I will never ever go back.I hope the owner reads this one day and will think twice about the staff he hires.

Have been making "pricey" purchases here since 2001. Last month purchased $500 wall art. Two weeks ago stopped again to browse and found a dinette set on sale that I had been wanting. Table was to be NEW, per salesperson Tiffany and acknowledged by Esau, who was (past tense) my regular salesperson. Four chairs were purchased "as is" floor models. Paid for overpriced delivery and received used floor model table (base and glass), not new table as agreed upon. End-cap missing on chrome leg and scratches on chrome leg. Suddenly Esau, my faithful salesperson, doesn't "recall" that I was to receive a new table. How do you feel, Esau, having trashed a faithful customer who actually requested you during the sale? "Management" took another week to send a message that they could do nothing for me. This is not a large store and "management" could not address this for seven working days? So sorry, "Hold It" and Esau. You just shot yourself in the foot. I have already spoken to the table manufacturer, who apologized for your lack of customer service and have already put replacement end-caps for the table in the mail to me, free of charge. I will be leaving negative reviews at every website that allows me to review you. But most importantly, you lost a long-time customer who had spent literally thousands of dollars in your store over a $79 table base that you refused to replace with the new one I purchased. In this economic depression one would think that customers would be sacred. Obviously the owner and salespeople of this establishment didn't get the memo. Your loss?not mine.

I am a frequent shopper at Hold It Furniture & wanted to put my 2 cents in on some of the comments I saw about them being overpriced. First of all, if you find out who the manufacturer is of the piece(s) of furniture you like from Hold It, you can Google them & see other places on the web that sell the same brand of furniture. Hold It's prices are the same, if not a bit lower. Some examples of the brands they carry are Gus Furniture, Pangea Furniture, Zuo Furniture, BoConcept, Calligaris Furniture. (Trust me, I've done my homework) All are very nice, quality furniture brands that will last. If you are looking for furniture to throw away in 6mo or a 1yr, go to Ikea. Side note, I do like Ikea's accessories, but their furniture is low quality. Also, Hold It has occasional sales at their warehouse where you can get some really good steals! I think you can sign up at their store to get e-mails for sales & promotions.

I love the furniture here but have been totally put-off by HoldIt due to the horrible customer service. They are extremely helpful to you before the sale. Once you've paid for it, they don't treat you well at all. We were told that the display furniture we purchased would be safely wrapped in bubble-wrap. When we went to pick it, there was no wrapping at all. Their excuse they ran out of bubble-wrap!!! If we were only told, we would have picked up our own packaging when we rented the truck. We managed to get our expensive furniture wrapped in some blankets but it resulted in minor damage as it didn't cover completely like a bubble-warp would. I'm never doing business with these pretentious people.

I just moved here from Canada and I am a shopper with EQ3 which is a lot like Hold It San Diego, but Hold it really pricey. I wanted a new couch and table and to my surprise a couch there would set you back a few grand!! the same couch at EQ3 Canada would be $800. I think hold it is a great but way too pricey, I feel they are taking advantage of the customers.

If anyone likes that style of furniture I would go to EQ3.com or just shop online else where you will a lot.

From contemporary Scandinavian design to outright ultra-modern, this may not be for everyone, but if your taste runs in this direction you'll love this place. Definitely several steps above IKEA, ahead of Plummers in overall quality, but not as intimidating in price as Lawrance. Features an extensive assortment from Club 8, most of which is customizable.

I LOVE funky furniture, but the things in this store are just plain wierd, not to mention expensive. I found the wares and the staff to be totally pretentious. Try IKEA, Pier 1, or West Elm instead.
