Pleasanton Hotel is a very good place for dinner. Food is good and service is solid. It may be a bit over priced, but a nice wine list and fun bar area make this a great place for a Friday or Saturday night. Sometimes you get live music to help augment the experience.

My company holds their Xmas party there every year, during the Sunday brunch rather than during an evening. All of our employees enjoy it thoroughly, including the children. The buffet is varied and delicious. The old-fashioned building with a closed architecture leaves an intimate feel, and Xmas decorations look homey.

My husband and I love this restaurant, but always seem to be the youngest couple there! We're in our mid-late forties and the clientele seem to be mostly in the 60+ age group. They seem to be having a difficult time getting enough customers and we're frequently dining by ourselves for most of our meal. We've been going to this restaurant since we moved to Dublin over 3 years ago and initially the food was very bland and very much like cafeteria food, nothing to write home about. After experiencing that for a few times we stopped going for about a year and then decided to try again and were very glad that we did! We are now in their frequent diners club. Since then every dining experience has been delicious and the service is always good. They recently changed chefs and we've only been once right after he started and it was good but not great. We're hoping that the new chef settles in and is up to par with the previous chef. I'll update after our next visit!

Great place to eat, its not a hotel, its only a restaurant.

We had my daughters wedding there and its a quaint victorian room that holds up to 110 in the one area. If you open up, it holds more.

Great food. They have a place outside to hold the ceremony also.

Highly recommended.

"We Hate Expensive Wine" heads the Pleasanton Hotel's wine list and they manage to prove it with exceptional prices on lovely local wines.
Sole stuffed with Dungeness crab in a lobster sauce was mind numbingly amazing and the portion size was out of this world, 2 pieces plus gnocchi. The desserts are just as good as well as similar in size.
One order of the chocolate bread pudding was four rich slices smothered in cream.
The atmosphere is cozy but lacks the sophistication a room full of hip young adults can bring to a jazzy downtown place, however, it was nice, quite and romantic.
I would recomended it to my friends as well as my mother.

Pros: Wine List, Food, Parking

Cons: Older Crowd, Location

.

Friday & Saturday night digs for the 40++ crowd with a regular band set that you could set your watch to. The food is okaaay... the service is average. It's a pretty building with a seasonal outside patio. A place I frequent for a quick drink before heading off to my real plans.

Pros: Big parking lot, in downtown area

Maybe this restaurant's brunch was rated best in 2000 but as of today is not even par.
