Imahara Produce & Oriental Fds

This is a great little grocery store. It reminds me of the kind of neighborhood grocer you walk to. They have very good fruits and vegetable. And you can get a lot of the Japanese food here. Sometime we'll go by and pick up a misubi or two.

This is in the same strip mall as my favorite bakery L'epi D'or so I go here often to get fresh fruits. They have lots of very good fresh produce (although not much organic from what I have seen). They also have lots of specialty japanese foods and interesting snack foods. You can get some standard items, but it's not a store to do the bulk of your shopping. They only take cash or checks and they aren't open on Sundays. So you have to be prepared for that.

Imahara always manage to select very good quality fruits, and they're usually cheaper big supermarket chains. They also carry different types of Japanese candies, bread, and crackers. My favorite is the Botan rice candies and the sheets of seaweed. The only inconvenience is that they're not open on Sunday and they do not take credit cards.
