Loved it

by Andrea D.

Fantastic director, curriculum, small ratios! It has child-sized classrooms, child-sized playgrounds, great teachers, intelligent, warm, personable director. When there are problems, she acts quickly and decisively to correct the problem. She develops long-lasting relationships with excellent teachers to build an outstanding program.

This school has the most innovative ways of educating preschoolers, like getting them writing very very early and visiting each others' homes as field trips to learn about one another, etc. I loved having my children at this school and trusted the staff completely.

An Ideal Place

by Christine H.

PDN is the the best daycare/nursery school in Southern California. My daughter went there and my son is about to start. The low turn over and fantastic director makes it feel more like a family rather than a school. The multi-cultural atmosphere is a great environment for kids. There is nothing I do not like about PDN!

I am so happy my son goes to this daycare

by Amy K. | insider Insider | Rank: 17,123

I could not feel more comfortable leaving my son (currently 8 months old) at Pasadena Day Nursery. Everyone from Betty the director to the head caregiver Francis to his assigned caregivers Nestle and Maria is so wonderful and caring. I love that I can walk in the door and the director will say how happy my son has been this week --everyone knows him already and they all seem to genuinely care about each child. I am excited for when he gets older also -- the older children do wonderful activities such as to to the neighborhood pool and the farmer's market.

One extra thing -- the Nursery supplies lunch and snacks to the children who eat solids! I am so glad I will not have to pack lunch for my son each day but he will instead get a nutritous hot meal.

OK Choice for Very Young Children

by Ken Y.

Non-profit Pasadena Day Nursery has been around since 1910 (though the current facility is newer it is already a few decades old and looks it).

Pluses: Home-like facility. Two daily snacks and a hot lunch prepared in the on-site kitchen are included.

Assessment: OK for younger children. There are better local choices for 3+, and especially for older 4s and 5 year olds who just missed the kindergarten cutoff.
