The Del Mar Lobster Quesadilla is my favorite!! Absolutely delicious! My boyfriend used to get the breakfast special for $3.99 (I think it was), and he really liked it, but I thought it was pretty gross. Really greasy!! I think most of their food is pretty good, but some of it could also be improved on.

i love this place. Somewhere between the most amazing bloody bar i've ever seen and their happy hour, i'm in love. the only thing i dont like is that guy "kowal" that works there. he's a real d-bag. strange because everyone else seems really nice.

Last night used my ATM card there. My charges were 21.89. At home I looked at my bank statement. I had 2 $25.00 charges from Sharkeez. I went back to ask them to remove one. They said it was a pre-authorization charge and would be removed in 3 days. I explained that no one informed me of this.

Last night I had an appetizer and a beer there. My total charges including tip came to 21.89. When I got home I looked at my bank statement online to see that I had 2 $25.00 charges from Sharkeez. I contacted them and asked them to remove one of the charges. They said it was a pre-authorization charge and that it would be removed in 3 days. I explained that no one informed me of this and that I would have used cash if I'd known it. I also went back to the bar to ask them to remove the charge. They refused and showed me a slip they asked me to sign authorizing the charges. The slip of paper has in large letters across the top, "Win A VIP Happy Hour Party...." And below it asks you to give personal information to win the party. Between that and the form for your information in small letters it explains the pre-authorization charges. No one tells you that you need to read this. No one explains this to you verbally. I think it's a sleazeball practice and they should be upfront and tell thier customers that they need to read that section of the form, or verbally tell them about the $50 in pre-authorization charges.

I've been to every Sharkeez and this one is pretty good. It's probably the biggest one of all of them and there are a lot more booths. There are tons of TVs, so it's good to watch a sporting event there. They also have a pretty good sized dance floor.

I went to school at UCSB and of all the bars on state street, this is the best one. The food is great and you can't beat the drink specials. On Thursday nights $1.50 for well drinks and beer. I have gone to several happy hour parties and even had one for my birthday recently. The bartenders and hosts are very friendly and accomodating. Can't wait to go back!

Pros: Great deals

Cons: Can get really crowded.

This bar tends to have good drink specials (used to be there were $2 mai tais on Tues. nights -- they weren't very tasty but they were potent enough), so it gets pretty popular. If you're lucky there may be a "mermaid" swimming in the tank behind the bar. This place is either dead or super crowded, depending on the night and time.
