Nails D'Elegence is the only place I go to get my nails done. For one, they are 1 of about 2 or 3 salons that do Gel nails in the Ventura/Oxnard/Camarillo/Port Hueneme area. The staff are very friendly and do a great job really fast. And the spa pedicure... absolutely wonderful!!! The prices are pretty reasonable for this area of southern California. I wear gel over my natural nails so yes, I pay $30/$35 for a fill, AND IT LASTS!!! Acrylic is less expensive. I have recommended this to many of my friends and will continue to do so!

Don't get me wrong... the experience itself was nice. The spa pedicure and manicure was fine, with the massage chairs, blah blah... BUT it was too expensive! $45 + $8 for the little design on the nail. If my nails stayed nice, I might consider going back... but my nails were chipping by the 3rd day and that was 3 days of doing nothing! I'm a nurse and I wash my hands all of the time, and usually I have no problem with my polish staying on for at least 6 days when I do it myself. The polish on my toes has started chipping, too... and that should last perfect for at least 2 weeks (considering my previous experiences at other salons). When I went in they offered to "re-polish" my fingernails, but only right then... they wouldn't give me a certificate to come back to get it fixed at a time that suited me. Don't waste your time or money here!

PROS: nice massage chairs
CONS: costly & poor quality

My sister in law gave me a gift certificate for a spa pedicure and manicure. What a treat! I sat in a massage chair while soaking my feet in a whirlpool of hot water, followed by a foot and lower leg massage. After that came the pedicure. While the pedicure was being done, another person came over to start my manicure.

All in all, it was very relaxing and enjoyable. It was busy when I was there on a Saturday morning, and it was a little bit loud with the music playing, but all in all I enjoyed the experience. I didn't even need an appointment, as it's a fairly large space and there were many people working when I went in.

PROS: relaxing, quick service, walk-ins accepted
CONS: music was a bit loud for my liking
