Food Mill Inc

This store is a small health food store with a presence in 2 locations in Oakland. The first is on McArthur close to 35th and the second is on McArthur close to Piedmont Ave. across from Kaiser Hospital. The former is Iconic in status. The prices are good, you can find many herbs, homeopathics, and naturapathic remedies. It is also a small grocery store for produce and cold food items. There is a small parking lot and lots of free street parking. The latter location is rather new. The parking is scanty unless you want to walk a couple of blocks. Although they have less variety of products, they offer deli foods and hot soups and dining seating inside and on the sidewalk and a microwave to heat up deli foods.

Food Mill is a no nonsense health food store. None of that hippy suff here. None of that yuppie wine and cheese stuff either. The Food Mill, on Macarthur in between the Laurel and Dimond districts, stocks the basics and the best. The staff is knowledgeble but the tiny parking lot is a nightmare.
