Old Town itself is like an open-air museum; the historical buildings are run classically, there are many business people in dress of their times.
The entire area, however, is extremely business-oriented. Unless you're interested in shopping around, or unless you're interested in the local history of San Diego, there's really nothing to catch your eye in Old Town.
Old Town is a nice park to walk through, but nothing exciting for the average visitor. If you're a visitor to San Diego, don't feel guilty in skipping it--there's not much lost in simply looking at the pictures.
