5 stars... not because it's the best sushi in town, because it's the ABSOLUTE BEST at what they are trying to be: A friendly neighborhood sushi spot with amazingly fresh fish, friendly and attentive staff, nice simple decor, and FANTASTIC prices! As much as I love having this spot as my little secret, it is simply too good NOT to praise. I'll eat there at least once a week as long as I live in the wood

Pros: Fresh fish, great prices, great service, parking

Cons: Not a huge variety of rolls

You need not goto the Valley for amazing strip-mall sushi! Sushi Time is amazing sushi at a steal. If you need to impress a girl with a trendy looking and over priced restaurant, then head to La Cienega, and when you're done, head back to where you came from. This place is so cool and relaxed, which is why it draws a crowd of the same. Jazz plays in the background as Master Toshi hooks up delightful sushi. I highly recommend the White Tuna Sashimi; order the Alex roll off the secret menu!! enjoy.

Pros: Authentic, The food, the price, the crowd, the cleanliness.....

Cons: Strip mall stigma, but maybe that's not really a con after all.

This place surprised me with their special. Aji (Spanish Mackerel) is so good here until I keep coming back for it. White Tuna, the fish is as white as the sushi rice underneath. Their salmon is special too I forgot the name but not a usual salmon. Blue crab roll is good. All of these at a very reasonable price.

I love this place. It's affordable, yummy every time, great, friendly service (a cute little family owns the place). Even though it's in a strip mall, it's has a suprisingly good ambience (not fancy at all of course), but nice music, good vibe, descent decor. This is the kind of place you can go once a week--cheap and great!! I recommend it to all my friends that live in the area, and they all love it! We always say...It's Sushi Time!!

I love Sushi Time. The food...the quality...the music...the service...all at an affordable price. The staff is very friendly & helpful. The appetizers are all wonderful. The dinner/sushi/sashimi combos are generous & tasty. Please try any or all of the Special Rolls...special is an understatement. Drinks for the kids & adults. Top off the meal with plain ice cream(vanilla or green tea), or tempura ice cream(vanilla or green tea). See you there soon.

I love not having to leave the neighborhood for Great Japanese food. The owners & employees treat everyone as if they are their most important customer. The mood is always set by an excellent selection of Jazz playing in the background. The appetizers will delight your taste buds. The Spicy Tuna Tempura is an explosion of taste. Fried items on the menu are never greasy. Only the freshest cuts of sushi are served. The special rolls (Crunchy, Caterpillar, Spider) are amazing. The combinations are inexpensive & filling. Add a few beers or Sake into the mix & a good time is had by all. I actually dream about the Tempura Ice Cream. I can't praise Sushi Time enough...Go there...Go there often.

Envying Ventura Blvd, I have been looking for a good, dependable and affordable "sushi joint" this side of Mulholland. So after months of hesitating, I finally went into this tiny sushi post at the very busy corner of Crescent Heights and Beverly. Though sparse and small, Sushi Time is clean, with a friendly staff, and EXCELLENT deals. The basics (spicy tuna, eel) are solid but the Shrimp Tempura Rolls is particularly GREAT! Nice and huge, they even roll extra tempura bits around the roll. The tempura in general is good and not greasy or heavy. It's not the sexy, hip Japanese places now opening everywhere but if you want to live your dream of having sushi at least once a week without going broke, this is one of those DEPENDABLE, AFORDABLE places to make that dream come true. Plus they take plastic!
