My fiance and I stopped here looking for a good steak dinner on the reccomendation of a couple of local people which is always nice to get. We were told that the owner cut his own beef and bought only the best. However, I have never been so disappointed in a restraunt.

The first thing I noticed was that there were dead flies in the window sill right next to our table, likely because the young waitress was dusting and cleaning the windows, I thought. Then as we were waiting for our water, my fiance became aware of some spider webs which had attached to him. He asked for a rag to clean them away from him. The waitress attempted to brush them away. At this point we probably should have asked for another table, but as I looked around, all the window sills seemed to have similiar decorations, spider webs and flies. While I sat there I noticed a spider crawling up the wall behind my fiance.

When we recieved the menus we were taken aback by the prices. We were expecting it to be pricey as we had been warned and it is a steak house, but... it seemed a bit over the top considering the ambiance. But, we remembered the accolades of the Bodega Bay Visitor's Center representative and the nice older man in Valley Ford coming out of another restraunt, we decided to stay. The menus claimed that Stormy's was the oldest roadhouse in the West, est 1854. Sooo, I ordered a t-bone, medium, the special. My fiance ordered the prime rib, medium rare.

As we waited for our soup and salad we looked at the plates in front of us, turning the soup bowl over in preparation for the clam chowder which was to come. Sadly, we had to wipe them off as their was fine black debris on the surfaces of the salad plates and soup bowls. Well, they just appeared dirty.

The soup was a bit shy of clam and had an overabundance of bacon. The salad was standard fare. But the real disappointment here was the meat, that which we had suffered through everything else for. While the portion sizes were large, the meat itself... My t-bone was abundantly charred and well-done. Other than the taste of charcoal, the meat was overwhelmingly tasteless. I had a bite of my fiance's prime rib; it was the same, tasteless. They had cooked it the way he liked it, medium rare, but there was no flavor whatsoever. I asked for steak sauce and we salted and peppered the heck out of our meal.

By the end of this meal I was very upset. We had endured spiders, and flies, and dirty dinnerware, even the salt and peper shakers were dirty, long waits, and really bad food. Even the potatoes that came with the meal tasted wrong. Why didn't I complain to the management, you might ask. I was so overwhelmed by the lack of interest this estalishment had in what they were in business to provide, I really didn't want to deal with it, sending things back, complaining about all the things you never want to see in a place which serves food. So we paid our bill, left a minimal tip, and chalked it up to experience. We won't return and we don't recommend you do either. Maybe they've been in business to long.

Stormy's has the very best of all time clam chowder! The owner should can it and sell it on the market! Also the have the biggest Porterhouse steak that I've every seen! They food that everyone else got was wonderful to they said. Stormy's is way out of town so I don't get there often and actually forget about it but I need to make a point to get out there way more often!
