I should have written this three years ago but I was kind of lazy, but now I have full confidence and trust in GILL TIRES professional work and HONESTY, so I decided to spend some time and wrote this, so other people like me can get the benefit. Three years ago, I have some problems with my 1998 Nissan Quest Mini Van, I took my van to PEP BOYS STORE in Lodi, CA and they fixed temporarily and after three months I have the same problem again, I took my van back and they said looks like you have Transmission problems. I took my van to AAMCO Transmission, in Lodi, they said we will test it free and let you know how much it will cost to fix, if you decided to get it fix, we will not charge for the test and if you decided not to fix then we will charge $499, I said how much it will take to get it fix they told it can be anywhere from $2500 to $5000, I said NO, I do not want to spend that much money. Then I took my van to another shop on Fremont street east of 99, and then said there is nothing wrong with the Transmission, and you need Oxygen Sensor. They put new Oxygen sensor and charged me $385, but after three month, I have the same problem. I was so frustrated and ready to get rid of my 1998 Quest, then one of my friend told me take your van to GILL TIRES SHOP, I listened him and took my van there and talked to Mr. SAM GILL and told my problem, he said let us check and we will let you know. I left the van there, then after a hour he called me and told you have OXYGEN Sensor issue, we will make some resetting and adjustment and we will also order the sensor, if after resting your van start running fine then we will return the sensor back. I brought my van back and driving for a week and I took to the mountains and I have not seen any issue with my van, I was very happy and after a week I called and told Mr. GILL, my van is running great, he said OK, I will return the sensor back. Other people PEP bOYS and shop on Fremont Street they put the new sensor but did not reset the computer that??s why it was giving me the same problems over and over. Since Mr. SAM??s technician made that resetting my van running great to date. So, at GILL TIRES shop my Big problem get fix with a penny. AAMCO was ready to put new Transmission, which has no issue et all.
Now my daughter??s car 1999 Toyota Camry broke down on Highway 80 going from Davis to Sacramento. We took car to two shops in Davis and they tested and giving me the estimate for about $2000 to get it fix. My gut feeling was telling me this looks too much, so I rented U-Haul trolley and towed the car and bring to Mr. SAM GILL and he found out timing belt was broken and he changed the timing belt and charged me $450.00 and put the car back on the road. Now you tell me should I trust any other shop to get my car repair, No way. GILL TIRES EARNED MY TRUST, SO I CAN RECOMED ANY BODY TO GO THERE AND GET YOUR CAR FIXED AND COMPARE THE COST WITH OTHERS SHOPS, THEN YOU WILL FIND BY YOURSELF, YOU MADE THE GOOD DECISION OR NOT.

Just stay away from Gill Tires. Sam is the rudest owner ever and doesnt take responsibility for his shoddy repair work. To sum up, Sam Gill, the owner of Gill Tires, is unskillful to be doing auto repair work and should not be in business doing this trade. Better off being a deceptive car dealer than an auto mechanic. \n\nI went in to have my brake worked on and came out with my car pulling strongly to the right and also my brake / car being rough when applying the brake. Then when I went back to tell Sam the problem he denied any responsibility and that it was not his fault. \n\nHe said it was my alignment problem that is causing the pulling and wanted another $60 to adjust the alignment. An auto mechanic friend of mine said my alignment was fine and any pulling would be from defective tire(s). I had my tires replaced almost a year ago and already had them rotated about 1,000 miles ago and my car was still going straight before going into Gill Tires for brake service. \n\nAfter trying to tell Sam what is going on for the longest time because he wasnt listening to us, he decided to switch the front 2 tires to see if it is an alignment problem or not After switching the tires, the car was pulling to the right and then to the left and then to the right again. This is an indication that it is a balance problem, so I told Sam that, and that the balance problem is also why the car felt rough when applying the brake. He was like, I dont know I dont know how to answer that I was like WTF??? I dont even work in the auto repair business and I know what the diagnosis is. \n\nHe said he has been in the business for 20 years and he doesnt know jack about balance problem causing rough braking and making the car pulls, alternating from left and right, is just unbelievable to me. REALLY, HE SHOULD NOT BE IN THE AUTO REPAIR BUSINESS. He was like how should I know you want to balance the tires after we take the tires off the car? LIKE SERIOUSLY? You dont know that the tires might not balance the same after you take the tire off and put the tire back on the car? What an incompetent sly fox. Then he wanted $20 per tire to balance the tires. If someone couldnt do a job right after 2 times, do you really think I would let him scam me a third time? Ich dont think so.\n\nI requested my old parts back and he never showed them to me. I dont even know if they were even replaced. The moral of the story is STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM GILL TIRES AS POSSIBLE. Also, Sam needs a chill pill to control his anger and learn some customer service. I really should have researched online before going in to have my car serviced. Apparently, someone already rated Gill Tires 1 star on Yelp. Now it is too late. I lost $235 for brake pads replacement and rotor resurfacing that I dont even know if Sam actually replaced my brake pads or resurfaced my rotors at all. Now I have to take my car to another place to balance the tires. Argh shame on SAM GILL of GILL TIRES.\n

Pros: 1 star is too generous
