A friend of mines and I got lost in this bookstore. She went her way and I went mine. It was so much to look at. They have books on every subject. This place would satisfy the biggest bookworm's desire, and on top of that they serve free tea while you browse!

The Bodhi Tree Bookstore has been offering usual books for two generations now and probably will continue for many more. The store is a wonderful experience, even if you aren't into the type of literature offered there. The atmosphere of incense and tea and white linen wraps is evident from the minute you look in the door. The books are new and feature authors and titles that are difficult to find in any other bookstore in town. Most titles can't be found south of San Francisco and west of Taos, New Mexico! The parking during the week is tough, tough, tough. Try for Saturday parking to save your sanity. The Bodhi Tree also has evening hours, and parking is much easier during these times. The bookstore also hosts lectures, demonstrations and book signings. Highest recommendations.

Finally, a quiet lace in the chaos that is L.A. If it wasn't so far from my house, I would be here more often. Parking's not bad if you plan on buying something, since they will reimburse valet if you spend over $10.
Oh, and if you're into that kind of thing, they have psychics pretty much all day..
You can stop here then go to Urth Cafe. Perfect combo.
PROS: Nice peaceful place in L.A.
CONS: Can't see any

This place is great: they have a great selection of books as well as many other items including statues, incense, some herbal and other natural health care items, art work, magazines, etc. Go there: it's fun! They are open until 11pm & also open on Sundays so it's very convenient to visit there. They are in a great neighborhood and I never had trouble parking. They even have stained glass mandalas which are beautiful.

The Bodhi Tree has one of the most extensive selections of eastern religious and metaphysical collections in the LA area. They also carry a healthy selection of fiction and nonfiction books. Bodhi Tree even has a reasonably priced used book store around the corner from the main store. Atmosphere is great, relaxed, and absolutely fun to visit.
PROS: Huge selection, relaxed atmosphere
CONS: parking

The Bodhi Tree beckons with a welcoming waft of incense or some scent that surrounds one with serenity. And, upon the shelves are all the resources one could wish to have in the exploration of the spirit and the soul, philosophy, and the sacred arts customary around the world. Relax and peruse, letting it go to your heart.

One of the most ecclectic and wonderful spots to find books ranging from philosophic to self-help to literary and religious. Great used book store in the back of the main store too. Grab a book and head over next door to the Urth cafe and you've got heaven!

Great book store. Also sells all kinds of "new age" trinkets and such. For the book collector or person on a budget, the used book store around the back is a great place to find rare books you might not find in the regular bookstore. The people in the used book store are very familiar with their titles and subjects as well.

This store is filled with all kinds of things for your body and soul. it's a metaphysical type shop with books, candles, crystals, yoga, meditation music. I find it very relaxing to be in there and also very helpful in finding what I need. a Very friendly and helpful staff are always standing nearby.
