I can't say that this even begins to compare with the Kennedy Space center, but what space museum can? I've always been an avid fan of space museums, and although this one can't compare to KSC, it is still a great museum. San Diego is the home to the Ryan Aircraft which built the spirit of St. Lous and a hotbed of aeronautics, which is something you should definitly check out.

I have never been too into planes or aviation, but was still very impressed with this museum, located in Balboa Park. The museum itself is quite large and includes an outdoor area with life size planes and helicopters. The exhibits cover a lot of subject matter, including the roles of planes in war, flight attendants through the years, progress made in design, and much more. There is also a flight simulator ride for kids to enjoy.

My husband is nuts for airplanes, and he absolutely loves coming here! tons of old aircraft, from the wright flier to modern day war machines. They have a kids area, too, where thye let the kids climb in and do activities. The atrium is awesome, and a great place to relax. They have some days where they have planned activities for kids- we went once and they were teaching kids to make paper airplanes that were not just your standard ones. My daughter loved it,and spent the next month using up all my computer paper making airplanes at home!

"If you're headed to San Diego (California, USA) and your're an airplane or history buff, you won't want to miss the world famous San Diego Aerospace Museum. Your journey through the history of flight begins as you stand beneath a model of the Montgolfier Brothers' hot air balloon of 1783 - the first vehicle in recorded history to break the bonds of gravity and lift living beings above the Earth.

See an authentic reproduction of the Wright Bros. 1903 flier and other models of early flight. Marvel at the antics of the barnstormers of the 1920's. Re-live the history of aviation as seen through the eyes of WWI and WWII. And, imagine what it is like to break Earth's bonds and travel into outer space as you get a close up and personal view of NASA's Apollo 9 Command Module. The only Apollo spacecraft on display in Southwestern United States to have actually flown in outer space.

Closed all major holidays.

You can learn all about the history of flight at this museum. From the Wright brothers to rockets, it's all here. It's relatively inexpensive, and there is a good sized parking lot. Good place to take the kids.

The Museum has many exhibits and offers a lot of educational information that would intrest kids as well as adults. Like many museums I'm not sure the Aerospace Museum would hold one's attention for very long, but it is a nice place to go for a few hours to learn and have fun.

I went here and I found that it was a very boring museum. All that you do is walk around and look at planes. It is just a plain old museum that is very boring.

This neat museum teaches visitors about the history and science of airplanes using unique displays that utilize artifacts ranging from the very conception of the airplane. A walk through history takes visitors from the Wright Brothers to the present state of the airplane. The Aerospace museum provides a fun learning experience for everyone.

This is definitely a one of a kind Museum. I don't think you can see such cool places at any other place in the United States. I love to go to the Museum when I have company in town because they enjoy going and I always do too.

Do you love airplanes ? Well this is the place to be with all the airplanes throughout the ages from the beginning to modern days. You'll learn all about the first plane built by the Wright brothers to the F-18s being used now by the airforce. It is great for the family, school and the airplane lover.
