Tenno Sushi

i found this place several years ago when just walking around Little Tokyo.. havent stop coming here since.. the sushi is fresh, and they give you hearty protions of each piece. i deflinitely recommend the albacore tataki, most of they tofu dishes and their standard sushi, salmon, shrimp, eel. they are great at making traditional sushi. the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get.
i got to know one of the chefs by name and every time i see him he make the greatest sushi for me.
also if you go there late.. make sure to notice the old man at the end of the bar.
he goes there every day around 11pm, i believe he was related to the original owner, not quite sure, but he has been coming here for decades. nice quality to have for a restaurant.

PROS: open late on weekdays (2am)
CONS: the cut rolls arent as big as i would like them to be

I got this info from a Japanese friend who works in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. This is so far the most authentic Japanese sushi restaurant I have ever been. Their price is reasonable and most of all their sushi is very fresh. Toro is extremely fresh! Their cooked dishes are very good too. Their small Japanese dish is good with sake and beer. We have been going there for years. Hm......just by taking about it makes me hungry....yum.....yum.....
