So, whether or not this review expands throughout all Bally's, or if is isolated to just this one in particular is up to you to decide. This just happens to be the one that I frequent. And by the way, I am finally on a month-to-month, and my premier dues are now $14.99, a reasonable fee considering the following. First, Bally's talks a big game about saying that everyone must bring a workout towel with them, but this has been a mere pageantry at this location. I still have to wipe down the sweaty equipment before using it. Not ONCE has someone asked whether or not I have a workout towel, as I slip through their unmonitored check-point. Truly, I could easily use my buddy's membership card, and they wouldn't know the difference. Apparently, their presence at the front counter (if anyone is there at all) is supposed to intimidate that kind of thing. Second, this gym is littered with Nautilus machines that have dinosuared their way back from the 80's and have taken a retiring refuge into the new millenium. Not that you can't get somewhat of a build on them, but with the money that I have had to spend over the first three years of my membership, I expected more...a lot more. Last, the employees. Maybe it's Bally's fault, hiring people for a wage that does not ensure a policy of putting the customer first. Regardless, I feel as though I am supposed to be impressed with the fact that they work there. I can honestly say that during the times that I did need assistance from the empty front desk, when approached, I felt as though I were encroaching upon their free time. And if you are given a tour, watch for the guide to tell you all about "HIS" workout machines and "HIS" equipment. Anyway, it's your money. Get what you deserve.

Pros: convenience

Cons: Historic equipment, uninspired staff, expensive membership

I went to the rehab center when it was located in the Montebello Bally's gym location. The therapists were very young and seemed to be more interested in girl watching and talking with their "homies" then in the people who needed therapy.
There was little or no supervision to see if exercises were done properly. When office therapy was required little was done to protect the patients privacy, ie open curtains while you were exposed.
I enjoyed the pool and with better trained therapists it might have been more effective.
