5 Stars: YUMMY (by LeTia T.)

This is 1 of the 3 restaurants that are all in close proximity to each other and are owned by the same people. The breakfast here is yummy and inexpensive. The homemade chips and salsa are to die for...and then there are the chevalas! You can only order 3 and you HAVE to order food. I recommend the super dark...you won't walk out without staggering so bring someone to drive you because you CANNOT go here without having one. All of the food is good and fast/efficient service!

There are 2 other taquerias by this name..This one is smaller than the others..but that is the only difference. The food is great!

5 Stars: Great food (by Joan B.)

I totally agree with everything Jenni E. said about the food, but she was talking about the location on Lincoln Ave. This location is even smaller than the one on Lincoln and not as well decorated, but okay for a quick, casual meal. I've usually been able to get a seat here, even though it's smaller than the Lincoln one, it's not as busy. I haven't tried too many of their dishes because I always get their carnitas burritos (their Al Pastor and chicken is quite good as well). They are around 5 bucks and I must say they have the some of the best in town. They do have two other locations that are very close by: the one on Lincoln (which I think is their first restaurant); and the other is a MUCH larger place (with a bar) on Willow Street near 87. They are all casual, everyday-type places and all have comparable food.

5 Stars: Our Favorite!!! (by Jenni E.)

Despite being located in an aging strip mall and next to a lube-n-tune shop, this is the best Mexican food in San Jose! We have been going here on a regular basis for about 10 years. The decor inside has been upgraded over the years, but the food has not changed...and that is a good thing! This is excellent, home-style Mexican cooking. Not too spicy. No frilly stuff on the plate. Just lots of delicious food. My favorite is the pork chimichangas. The steak tlaqupaque is excellent as well. Many nights there is a long wait, but it's worth it. Go early and beat the crowd. Or, sit and wait. Either way, you'll be glad you went. It's very casual, so you wear shorts and a t-shirt if you want.

PROS: Great Food
CONS: Long Wait - but worth it!
