I am not a big fan of 24 Hour Fitness, although I understand it's appeal. It is the most inexpensive gym I have seen in San Francisco, but because of this it is always crowded and the equipment is outdated.
I used 24 Hour Fitness a few times when choosing a gym and was also a little upset by the high pressure sales and the fact that they don't provide towels.
If you can afford to spend a little more each month, upgrading to Crunch or Club One seems worthwhile.

The entrance at 24 hour fitness confused me a bit as did the rest of the gym but I eventually found my way around. It was rather busy even though it wasnt a peak hour but their were plenty of machines to handle the business.
Their restroom facility was expansive and clean and the spa was a plus. I enjoyed the huge pool with preset lanes a great deal as well as the friendly staff.

I been working out in this gym for couple months now. I used to work out in Daly City one, which is not as clean and new. This is definately a nice facility and a lot of young people work out here. I would definately recommend people to work out here, if they need motivation.
PROS: Great facility
CONS: Get crowded from 6-8 weekdays

I was a member for 24 fitness on Ocean Ave. for quite a while and I never got tired of the place. It's HUGE, has a ton of machines, and while it still has all the bad points of any major chain gym (no personality, feels like a high school locker room), if you're going to go to one, you might as well go to one with so much stuff in it.
