Claire De Lune Coffee Lounge

I love this cafe because they have big comfy wing-back chairs perfect to read a newspaper or have a friendly conversation.

At night the neighbor hood is slightly sketch. Being a young female, I felt nervous walking to my car that was parked a few blocks away.

I went to Claire De Luna Coffee when my friend played a show there. Located in North Park, this seemed to be a diamond in the rough! The coffee and service was fantastic. Order a mocha with a shot of mint. I promise it will be up there with one of the best coffees you've ever had. Once a month they have a concert series where local artists perform. Also, this coffee house is nice and big with fluffy chairs and couches as well as a large area for people to study. If you want to people watch, this is also a great place to go. All sorts of characters show up here!

PROS: great coffee, fun atmosphere
CONS: not a whole lot of things to do besides this in the area

Although the surrounding area is not very nice, the cafe is very cozy and clean. The high ceiling is a change from cramped up coffee shops in san diego.

This place has it all as far as coffee shops go. They have live music, comedy and occasionally bellydancing most nights of the week. The atmosphere is really laid back, with lots of threadbare couches and low tables set up in circles to make the place feel more at home. Oh, ya, and they serve excellent coffee (many varieties) that costs about the same as most other local coffee shops.

Claire de Lune offers a wide selection of coffee, pastries, sandwiches, teas, etc. The chocolate chip muffins, lemon poppyseed scones, and carrot cake are among the best. For mocha lovers, they offfer three different mocha espresso drinks, and they're all good. Prices are pretty much average. They also have live music and poetry readings sometimes, and it's a fun, comfy place to sit and hang out.
