Our child goes to Turtle Rock and I rave about it to everyone I know. Only complaint is that it's a large school (200 or so kids!), so lots of viruses flying around during the flu season. But- it's clean, great facilities, and most importantly, the teachers are AWESOME!!! Most have been there for years and years and years (like- 15-20 years!). They are experienced and very loving. Despite the large program, you definitely feel like they know each and every child and personalized attention is given.

The downside? The cost. It's pricy (well, okay, not compared to other good preschools- in that sense, it's comparable), but it's still pricy for us, nonetheless.

One other thing- we've had our kids go to other summer camps, and hands down, by far, Turtle Rock's summer camp is so much better organized and well-run.

As a parent at TRP I was shocked to see the previous reviews mention of the BBB... so I looked it up to be sure. It is rated as an "A"! That's what I expected from this great school.

As of 12/2008, this preschool received an "F" rating by the Better Business Bureau! Something is not right. I'm shopping around for a preschool for my child. I met w/ Michelle and she gave me a tour. All I saw were the displayed of children work, lesson plans, cubbies and empty classrooms. The children and teachers were outside.

Turtle Rock Preschool is top notch. Our son started this year and is thriving. The director and teachers and their facility are outstanding. I was hesitant to start my son in pre-school last fall at 2.9, fearing he was just too young. The director and teachers have been wonderful with him, they are gifted with young children, very experienced and loving. I cannot imagine a better way for my son to spend three days a week. Kim

The admin staff is incompetent. High turn over of the teachers including the management staff. The teachers scold the kids. One of them jumped out of her chair and yelled at my child for picking his own toy. The teacher was yelling

My only complaint is a big one. My wife picked up our 3-yr old child today, and she was all alone in her clasroom, that is, except for the cleaning crew in adjacent rooms. My wife was in tears.

If you have boys or active girls consider another school. This school is expensive, but likes an easy time. If they could have just sweet girls there they would.

I have two kids at Turtle Rock and couldn't be happier with my decision. I felt compelled to write a review after reading two other commentaries that I felt were completely off the mark.

My children started in the nursery and have moved through the program. Each classroom experience has been absolutely fantastic. All of the teachers in the school know my kids' names and engage them in coversations throughout the day, when we arrive in the morning and when we go home at night. The front office staff is also incredibly friendly and knows each and every child. It really is a strong family environment.

In the 2.5 years that the kids have been attending the school we have not seen any turnover whatsoever. We left the previous daycare because of high turnover, so this is an area that I paid special attention to when evaluating Turtle Rock. In fact, one of my daughter's teachers has been with the school for 24 years!

Lesson plans for the week are sent home each Friday for the preschoolers and the lunches are healthy and affordable. Lunch is also included until the kids turn 2. Once a month there is also a kids night out option that allows kids to stay on a Friday evening until 10 pm to have pizza and watch a movie so that Mom and Dad can have an evening out. What a treat!

The only con I could list is the semi-annual fundraisers. There's no pressure to participate, but I still wish they weren't part of the operation.

I just enrolled my son in preschool at Turtle Rock. I have been looking into preschools for over a year to feel out the best setting. Within minutes, I fell in love with TRP and knew this would be the place to fulfill my son's academic and social needs. Anna, the Assistant Director, was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. She answered each of my questions thoroughly and made me feel right at home. She went through a detailed tour and requirements for enrollment. I am usually reluctant to make on the spot decisions but I literally knew within minutes that this was my top pick. Unfortunately, there was a waiting list but Kristen in the office worked diligently to secure an opening, which did not take horribly long. The staff is friendly, there are terrific enrichment programs that we are eager to try and the place is clean and aesthetically pleasing. I look forward to seeing my son's progress and I feel certain he is in good hands here. I read the negative review regarding high turnover. Parent's, I would not be discouraged by that review because it is even worse in a home day care, plus you have to deal with personal drama in those settings. If you want structure for your child, this really appears to be a good place. The staff also appears to have very fun, loving attitudes as well. Tuition is also very reasonable for full day, which is what I need as a single parent. It does not include food but it is about $30/wk cheaper than Kindercare. They do offer hot meals though at a fairly reasonable price. One of my hot buttons was minimal days of closure. They only have about 3 staff development days and major holidays off.

I have a 2 and 3 year old and hardly find the time to write this review - but I felt it was important to help other moms like me. I visited around 25 preschools in the area and chose to waitlist my kids at Turtlerock Preschool (even though many others had immediate opening) for many reasons. The front office staff and the director were so personable and friendly, and so were all the teachers! The minute I walked into the secure facility I KNEW this was THE SCHOOL for my kids! Upon receiving a thorough tour of the ultra-clean facilities, I was even more impressed and couldn't wait to get my kids in. I am the pickiest person that I know and there was not one thing I could find wrong with the school! I finally got in and it was well worth the wait. This is the picture of the type of preschool I had always pictured my kids attending. Now I can go back to work with a peace of mind knowing that my kids are in a happy & nurturing environment!

Both our son and daughter love their teachers. Lots of new things added to the school this last year and after touring other schools in the area we know we made the right choice. Teachers and front office staff are all so nice and helpful

I have had two children in the school and have had nothing but wonderful experiences. The teachers are all loving and kind and my daughter went into first grade totally prepared for elementary school. The new owners have added so many wonderful new things to the school and continues to add improvements. The rooms are bright and attractive and the security is first class

We left the school two months ago because of a job transfer. I was so sorry to leave. We have had 3 children go to Turtle Rock and have had such a great time. They were one of the few schools that take infants where we lived and it was so hard to leave each baby but the care given the children was so warm that it made it an easy transition. My oldest was there from age 2 months through kindergarten. Their costs are reasonable and even though tuition has gone up a little we can see the money is being put back into the hiring of good teachers and adding new things to the classrooms. Now that we are at a new school we realize how good Turtle Rock was. The new school is okay but we miss the family atmosphere and unlike Turle Rock which is locally owned, the new school is run by a large national corporation and so there is little personal interaction. The long waiting list is understandable in order to get into Turtle Rock considering the good reputation (over 29 years in its location) but it can be frustrating -- but well worth the wait. Also anytime I had a question or concern I was given a lot of time and was always happy with the communication.

This school used to have a great reputation among the community and family. It is accredited and the tuition fee is reasonable. But as the previous review mentioned there is a high teacher turn over. I just heard that the kindergarten teacher who has been a wonderful teacher just left not that long ago.

The main reason why I took out my child out of this program was the fluctuation of classmates and teachers. He was in the toddler room. I kept my child there because the teachers were so lovely and took great care of my child but after both of them left my child left the program too. I did some research afterwards and I seem not the only parent who took their child out of this school because of the same reason.

Now my child is in a new center and now I can definitely tell this is not a high quality center as it claims to be. Great difference between the new school and turtlerock preschool. For example, all the teachers at the current center can speak and write English properly.

This was a good preschool many years back. Not anymore. New owner took our money since last December 2007 and still have not found a spot for her. We even gave her more money only to find out the place has a high turn over of teachers and there rude. No way am i sending my daughter there. Beware. Do the research you will see the many problems. Dont be fooled!

i would like to give a wholehearted positive review for turtle rock preschool. we have been there for just over a year, and really love it. the teachers are great, enthusiastic, fair, loving, and most have been there quite some time. there is a fairly low turnover rate (i believe the teachers are well paid and get good benefits.) there is plenty of free play indoors and out. the teachers helped my daughter through potty training (probably better than i could have done myself.) she loves it and most days does not want to leave when we show up to get her. they serve a hot lunch and then have nap time daily (i believe there is a small group of kids that don't nap, but they have quiet time away from the sleepers.) for our family this is a great place. we needed a full day of school to accommodate work schedules, but wanted less of a day care and more of a preschool, which this is. the only thing i would caution you about is that all the kids go to the playground together, and it can seem a bit chaotic...but there is a strong teacher presence on the play ground, and i have not ever seen anything too crazy. my daughter seems to hold her own on the playground, and i have never been worried. they do great arts and crafts too! i hope this helps with your decisions! a happy parent
