I have eaten at this restaurant plenty of times and it always delivers. Their Brie Sandwich is to die for and their chicken sandwich is the almost as good (I am just a fan of Brie). I have on occasion had breakfast here and their fruit is always fresh and sweet and their omelette's are very tasty. For the record I have never gotten sick here...EVER! Living in Northeast LA there are very few "nice" restaurants in the area but Camilo's definitely falls into this category.

After reading reviews on several different sites about what a wonderful breakfast place it is, I was certain my friend and I would not be disappointed. Not only was I wrong, but I wasn't expecting to get sick. The egg rock omlette was OK and so was the Camilo's. Nothing extraordinary about either dish expect that both my friend and I were extremely nauseated after a few hours. No coincidence. To top it off, we were practically kicked out of the place when there were plenty of tables available.

My family is also in the restaurant business, so we're very discriminating when it comes to food. Everything we have ordered is very good. We've ordered almost all the sandwiches. The shrimp sandwich can hold itself against the lobster roll in Maine. They have the best tomato-basil pasta in the city and the seafood dinner items are excellent. However, the service is spotty at times. Sometimes, they give you the bread basket and at other times, you have to ask for it. On some visits, the waiters truly wait on you and at other times, they never bother to check on you. The worst is when even the maitre d'/owner seems to ignore you as you stand there waiting for a table. Maybe they think they're so good that people will still keep coming anyway...

We usually go to Camillo's for dinner. They had a Cream of Asparagus soup a year ago that was awesome! Unfortunately, it's not a staple on the menu. The food is good, the service is good, and the atmosphere is really nice with white table cloth and artwork on the brick walls. You'll spend about $30 per person for dinner in general, including dessert.

The menu is not extensive though. If you like the selection on the menu, then the place is great.

Been there 5 times or so over 2 years. Competent dishes and service, unexceptional, except for one telling thing: the food has arrived at the table cold 4 out of 5 visits. Dinners were better than the brunches.

PROS: competent food & service
CONS: Temperature challenged

Fantastic steak and fish meals. Fun events. Very cool interior - exposed brick and ceilings. The menu is small, but everything is good. I would compare it to the Ivy's menu, but 1/2 the price and the customers are real people.

Camilo's moved to Colorado Blvd, about a year ago. The food is fantastic. I recommend you come hunger and enjoy appetizers, dinner and dessert. The Mediterranean Tower is one the best appetizers I have ever had. It can generously be shared between four people. The main dishes are the highest quality and respectably sized. This is not one of the places where they give you obscenely large portions of poor quality food. I cannot speak highly enough of the desserts at Camilos. I recommend reservations on the weekend during the dinner hour. Weekdays nights, lunch, Sunday brunch and late nights usually are no longer than a 5-minute wait. The prices are high for the area, but considering the quality of the food I consider it a value.

Camilo's is easily best place to eat in Eagle Rock. Everything on the menu is amazing. The staff is great. The seating is comfortable. They have a great Valentines Day special. Camilo's is a great choice for dinner, lunch or just dessert.

Great on all levels. The owners, cooks, servers and bar tender are all very kind. The food is out of this world. The decorations are cool. There is indoor seating and patio tables.

Camilo's is open Tu-Saturday for B,L &D and Sunday for B & L. The atmosphere is nice and casual for B&L a step up for dinner. Usually there is no problem being seated but on the weekends it might be wise to make reservations. The breakfast menu includes many different choices from egg dishes to French toast to oatmeal. The coffee is Camilo's own blend (available to take home by the lb if you like) for lunch they have a number of gourmet sandwiches and salads to choose from plus various specials, I recommend the cobb salad and spinach sandwich. For dinner I highly recommend the Mediterranean tower as a starter and the filet with stilton.

Entrees were actually pretty good, but the overall experience was poor. Linen specks floated all over our glass of wine so we had to ask for another one. For dessert, we ordered the Amelia?s Apple, which was suppose to be served warm, but

Went for the first time and loved it! Great food, good service - everyone was so personable, making you feel so welcome. The setting is so cozy - perfect for a winter meal. Heard their brunch is fantastic - have to go back and try it!

We live in the area and like to try out new places. On our first visit to Camilo's, we were impressed by the food but definately not impressed by the service. The hostess did not welcome us when we walked in, did not smile or make the slightest of effort to acknowledge that we were standing in front of her while she yapped away on the phone on what seemed to be a personal call. After a few minutes, one of the waiters walked by and asked if we'd been seated - duh, no! We were still standing there. He proceeded to sit us, a bus boy walked by and gave us some water and after about 20 minutes our waiter stopped by to take our drink order. 10 minutes passed and he took our lunch order, 45 minutes passed and we finally got our food, sort of. We ordered steak and eggs, and they forgot the eggs. We ended our meal, with no refills on our coffee or water because the waiter did not stop by again, and asked the busy boy for our check. Our waiter was too busy chit chatting in the back with the rest of the staff. The bus boy brought the check by, and we waited, and waited and waited 20 minutes for someone to come and pick up the payment. Since no one did, we went up to the "hostess", interrupted her still ongoing call, paid and walked out wondering what we'd done wrong. Oh, and we left a tip for the bus boy. Now, we'd understand any of this on a busy day, but they had only three other customers in the restaurant when we walked in and one was left when we walked out. So, needless to say, our 1 1/2 hour experience at Camilo's was not a good one. The second, third and fourth visits were no better.
