Good Vibrations

San Francisco has, of course, a reputation for being all about sexual freedom, but perhaps lesser known is its reputation for sexual responsibility. Good Vibrations is the epitome of this.

First off, yes, Good Vibrations is an "adult store". They stock a good selection of "sex toys", pornographic material, etc. However, this is not your corner "porn shop". The products stocked have been tested and reviewed for not only quality and pleasurable experience, but for *safety*. The staff is extremely knowledgeable (they are all required to take "sex ed" classes before being allowed to work on the floor), curteous and understanding. The shop is kept immaculate, with lots of space in the aisles, and its brightly lit, so you feel like you're shopping in Sharper Image rather than "Pete's Porn Shack".

The entirety of the store is based around the idea of being "sex positive", and promotes the ideals of safe, enjoyable sex. You might walk in on a whim, check it out as a joke, but you'll leave feeling like you're more enlightened.

It's in the city, so parking can be questionable, but it's only a short two blocks from the BART station (16th and Mission).

PROS: Wide aisles, amazing staff, only sells quality products
CONS: Parking in the city... ugh!

I am not ashamed to say hat I visited this store one time. My friend and I drive past it everyday to go to work and we were very curious. I liked the fact that the windows were all covered, so you could not peek in or out. It made for great privacy. Inside was not as bad as I thought. they had a lot of sex toys and even some prank gists that were funny, not too gross. their merchandise was not very raunchy. It was an experience!

This place is great to have a laugh with a friend or plan a kinky evening with a sexual partner. The selection of vibrators is HUGE but they also have "responsible" items like condoms, books on kinky topics as well as the fun novelty stuff you buy for a friend batchelor party...a sexual treasure trove of fun!

PROS: amazing variety of vibrators, etc
CONS: Only once I was told to stop embarrassing other customers!

Dudes, so this is a pretty rad store. I mean it took me about 15 minutes to stop giggling so I could actually look at what they had in there, but it was worth it. It's pretty sweet. Good Vibrations presents the world of sex toys to the tons of people who would never otherwise go into an adult store. They've got everything: videos, books, toys, dildos, vibrators, leather strappy things, whips, the red ball mask thing from Pulp Fiction, everything.
