This restaurant in the Arcadia Supermarket plaza is a good place to try. The restaurant is great for small groups and families, but they also have bigger tables for groups. The food here is mostly Cantonese/Hong Kong style and the stone pot rice is A MUST TRY! It really is delicious and my favorite thing to order here.

This is a great little chinese restaurant in the center of Arcadia, CA and is perfect if you just want to stop in quickly for a quick bite. It is by no means a fancy chinese restaurant. It is just a nice relaxing little eatery. The restaurant itself is quite small (only holds around 20 people), but the food definitely makes up for it. The pork fried rice tastes great (and under 5 dollars, it is a great deal as well!). Best thing is, you can easily order your food to go so you can take it home!!

This small restaurant located in an Aisan strip mall had really incredible Authentic Hong Kong style Chinese food!
We ordered the corn-chicken soup (HUGE bowl for $5.95...enough to serve several people).
It was wonderful, both tasty & very soothing ; a flavorful chicken broth base thickened with corn starch, with corn, succulent bits of chicken, & egg flower swirled in.
For a main course we ordered Black Bean Beef Chow Fun. (Chow Fun are the thick wide rice noodles ). On top of the noodles was piled generous tender slices of beef sauteed with green & red bell peppers and onions in a wonderful black bean sauce redolent with garlic and lots of fresh ginger. (Generous plate $7.25). I can't wait to go back and try some of their other dishes!
If you go to May Mei. you must walk across the opposite side of the parking lot, to Bin Bin Konjac (a Chinese Konjac dessert & drink cafe) to try a really unusual but fun Asian dessert. Kojnac is a gelatinous substance made from a special species of wild yam. It is flavorless & very much like gelatin, it takes on the flavor of other ingredients. The texture is something like Jello, but with a bit more substance.
It is said to be "healthy, Low calorie", and with all natural flavors.
Bin Bin Konjac cafe/dessert shop had all kinds of unusual combinations of flavors and textures. It was mixed with everything fromsweetened beans, to green tea & cream.
They even had coffee flavored kojnac jelly.
There were many fresh fruit combinations.
They served complete sundae type desserts as well as cold & hot drinks. (if you love BOBA....this is even better!)
We had lychee Konjac. It was delicious, refreshing and not overly sweet.
A perfect light, sweet ending to a heavy meal. It is really an adventure that you should try at least once! (prices for drinks and desserts ranged from $1.99-$3.99)

Stone Pot rice with chicken and mushrooms is the dish to get here-- for a rice lover like me, it's heaven! It comes in a stone pot (obviously), and they take out the chicken, sausage slices, mushrooms and vegetables which are steamed in the pot with the rice and put it on a plate. Then they add some sweet soy sauce mixture to the pot and mix up the rice-- oh so good... The chicken is tender and tasty! They have other versions of this, but I haven't tried them -- i love this one too much!
