I totally enjoyed my salad with grilled vegetables which was excellent - I loved it. Karina was a great server and very attentive to our needs. The margarittas were tart and salty again I loved it.

Thank you for providing us with such a great evening. Service was better than perfect. The food was incredible and fresh and my margaritas were tasty. I'm so glad we came here tonight instead of staying home and cooking.

Don Picos has the best fish and crab tacos on the Peninsula and I love that they have Negra Modela on tap.

6 of us went to dinner for my husband's birthday, our son picked the restaurant. We were seated promptly and from there it went downhill. I forgot to say 'no cilantro' and when my chorizo fundido arrived it was loaded with cilantro, I told our waiter that I should have mentioned no cilantro and that it was my fault, he just shrugged, any other restaurant would have said 'let me bring you another', so I picked out as much cilantro as I could, not fun. I also ordered the trio of ceviche's, what a mistake, there was a big blob of canned crab meat, a pile of little shrimps and cut fish, the fish was good but the rest was terrible. I tasted some of my granddaughters meat and it was so tough I couldn't chew it. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant this expensive, the prices were outrageous. This is the second bad restaurant our son has suggested, I'm thinking I didn't raise him right, that he has no taste! I will never go back to this restaurant, I can close my eyes and pick any Mexican restaurant in S.F. and it would be better than here. Don't go if you like good Mexican food.

Our family loves Don Pico's great food! Good price. Get there between 5-6Pm no wait. Very kid friendly which makes it a good night out for all. Only bummer is they are closed Sunday & Monday.

I have eaten at Don Pico's 5 times in the last year. The food is pretty good and the service has been fine. However, every single time, they have overcharged me by at least $10 or more. They do not clearly itemize the check so it is very confusing. The only reason I have gone back is because it was someone's birthday and that is where they wanted to go. The waiter usually doesn't seem very surprised or apologetic when I bring the "mistakes" to his or her attention. I also know 4 other people who have been overcharged as well. That is no coincidence!

I love the food, the atmosphere and most of all the service. It is an experience you just have to go there with a group or even just yourself for a special meal and experience. They are sensibly priced for the quality of food and the menu selection is vast. The family and the workers there are top notch and I have gone there for years. Trust me being on a budget this place it a treat.

Don Pico's is the best mexican food in the area. I've been going there with my family for years. Isac always is friendly, welcoming and accomodating, have never had him treat me rudely. (referring to the review prior to mine) The crab enchiladas are outstanding, the tostadas are mounded high with fresh meat beans and all the trimmings! You have to try it, I think you'll enjoy the experience.

Don Pico?s offers a true feeling of going south of the border. The overall experience was excellent. The food was served hot, timely with very good presentation. The portion size was large enough even for a hearty appetite like mine. The food satisfies customers even with discriminating taste.

I have been eating Mexican food my entire life and this place really delivers! We were even visited by one of the owners as she sat down to speak with us, a very nice personal touch!

They also feature live entertainment either by a solo singing artist 2 nights per week or a serenade by guitar the other 3 days. They have been in the same place for over 30 years and it appears to be a local favorite.

I recommend you call first, it usually is pretty crowded. It?s not a large place but you will not be disappointed!

I've known this family for many years and I used to love their food and service. But the unhappy hospitality at Don Picos has left a bad flavor in my mouth. Florencia looks mean and unhappy. Isac was absolutely rude to us "your going to kill my business" because we requested special accomodations.
The food is plain and has very little pizaze and flavor. I think Isac needs to get back in the kitchen! I had to add salt to my food and I NEVER use it in my food. I would not recommend this place no longer. It's too bad they got so greedy and rude.

In my opinion, Don Pico's has the best burritos in the area. Also worth trying is their guacamole. You may have to wait a little during peak times, but it is definitely worth the wait.

Staff is friendly and service is fast.

Don Pico's is one of the best restaurants we have tried in a long time. The food was fresh and the flavor was wonderful. The restaurant is small and very busy, but it's worth the wait. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is very fun. They have live music on Friday nights. Very fun!

Been there about 4 times now after work with friends and had great food and great service! Enjoyed the live music (either guitar or vocals) after 6 as well. Not a big guacamole person but its the best I've ever had at this place. Get there as early as possible to avoid waiting. Great place for groups and kids and birthdays as well.

I recently came here for the first time and was immediately greeted and seated when I walked through the door. They served me one of the best burrito's I have ever had. I would reccomend this pace to anyone I know.

Food critics were way off with this place. I should have known "Mexican Bistro" would lead me South. Mexican standards like enchiladas and chile colorado are compromised with extreme eccentricity. Their attempt at gourmet Mexican fails. Sorry amigos, Don Pico's isn't really all that those famed critics at Saveur, Gourmet, and Zagat say it is. Ay Caramba!

Pros: decor, parking

Cons: no flavor or taste, unusual menu items

The food is very excellent and tasty. I wouldn't recommend going on either a Friday or Saturday- the service has been less than satisfactory due to the added crowds, I would assume because of the live music given on those days. However, the food has been wonderful despite the disapointing service.

This place has been around for a LONG time and it's no wonder. Almost everything on the menu is good, but the Carnitas and all the seafood dishes stand out. Don't forget to check the Chef's Specials board as you walk in. They don't have a hard liquor license but still manage to make a pretty mean "margarita" from a potent Mexican wine. The salsa's a bit weak (canned tomatoes) but definitely forgiveable in light of all the other great food.
