4 Stars: Unique flavors (by Carye T.)

They make their ice cream on the premises, and you can tell, it's so fresh. They will let you try a small sample. Great place to take your entire family.

4 Stars: Great Home made Ice Cream (by Eval G.)

It's a great place to taste unusual, creamy, sensual ice cream in exotic flavors, such as roses.
However, it is not a place where you can sit and spend a while with your kids - it is a small parlor with one or two tables.

4 Stars: Worth the Trip! (by Russell P.)

What a great ice cream store! I've been a fan of this store for 20 years, and my fascination hasn't diminished. The ice creams are decadent, flavorful...so good! Many "exotic" flavors too (my favorite is Computer Chip).

The cones require quick work, because of the natural ingredients. Otherwise, they melt all over you. Oh, what a problem to have on a hot day.

Only downside of this shop is the limited seating. I've found that a good alternative is a stroll with my cone over to Cubberley Community Center. In fact, it's proximity to the playing fields makes this a great place to bring sports teams for post-game celebrations.

5 Stars: Gourmet Magazine called this the best ice cream cone in the country (by Eric V.)

All of the ice cream is made in the back of the shop. They have a wide selection of flavors from your all usual favorites to unusual ones like chocolate ginger, which is pretty self explanatory, and Kulfi, an Indian flavor with rose, saffron and pistachios.

Perennial winner of the Palo Alto Weekly "Best Of" competition.

4 Stars: Ricks Ice Cream (by Sarah D.)

This is really a traditional ice cream parlour with a wonderful selection of flavors. Unfortunatley there is not a sitting area. Reasonable prices and portions for children. Also offer gift certificates - fun for kids to receive.

5 Stars: Can we go to Rick's for ice cream? (by Clara C.)

Rick's Rather Rich ice cream shop is such a treat for adults and children alike. Their friendly staff and unique flavors makes the entire experience worthwhile. They even offer a less-expensive "mini" size and allow you to get two flavors! I wish that they had a little more seating, but you can always wander over to the Piazza picnic tables.

5 Stars: Friendly place.. (by Lakshmi S.)

that offers some of the best ice creams with lots of seasonal and unique flavors. Their mango, peach, kulfi, and computer chip is one of the best. Great place for the school community to hang out..

5 Stars: Great Ice Cream (by Karen P.)

Rick's is a local favorite for homemade icecream. The variety of flavores is suprising for a small place and it is really good stuff! Rick's supports the community by contributing hundreds of coupons to the middle school Science Fair.

5 Stars: Everyone Goes to Rick*s (by Joanne N.)

And there's a good reason why they would. Kids of all ages will love the homemade ice cream parlor with the old-fashion feel, the lure of flavors from Molasses Coffee Chip to Bubble Gum, to Pumpkin in the fall and Egg Nog in the winter. Did I mention the ice cream cakes? Scoops are a mere $2, and the menu includes sundaes, shakes and fountain sodas. Tthe service is always friendly and efficient. Life without Rick*s is not pleasant to contemplate.

5 Stars: A hidden gem (by Dan B.)

You wouldn't think to look at it, but Ricks Rather Rich Ice Cream makes the best ice cream around. They're in a small shop in a mini-mall. With really cool and ever-changing flavors (try orange-chocolate, or chocolate-orange) they actually supply a number of local restaurants. Very high butter fat content means tasty treats!
