I have 2 Chihuahuas and we have been loyal Bow Wow Meow customers for almost 3 years now. The people here are very friendly and definite animal lovers. One of my Chihuahuas is a bit feisty (as many Chihuahuas are) and yet they are happy get him in anytime I call. As well as being friendly the staff here is also very knowledgeable and happy to help you in any way they can. Im not sure how it compares in price to other groomers in San Francisco, but $55 for a bath, haircut, nail trim, ear cleaning and the dreaded gland squeezing seems pretty reasonable to me.

Great selection of merchandise. Lots of organic or natural products which is hard to find all in one roof. Very helpful and personable person manning the counter.

Not bad place. Very good selection for one that isn't a chain. At least I believe they're not a chain.\n\nLast time we were here, the owner, I believe, helped me outfit my dog with a flotation vest and all the essential chews for his dental good health.

I have taken two cats here three times. The first time was a year ago, to get my ultra-long-hair rasta cat's inevitable dreadlocks shorn off. The Lion cut of Judah. It was OK, but the staff was sort of spacey, like, no focus, attention span, or linear thinking. The second time was for a regular grooming of a domestic shorthair, and he came home with fleas! Aaaaargh. So after a year I took Catty Dread back for the annual shearing, and this time was the last. The front office staff was rude. The back office (which I was, to my surprise, allowed to see) was like the cast of ""Who Wants to be a Dog Groomer?"" In spite of my delivering the cat promptly at 9:00 AM, they didn't give him back until 6:00 PM, and the lion cut was like what a kid does to Barbie with her first scissors.

Hello,

I am from the State of Rhode and every time I visit SF, I make a point of visiting Bow Wow Meow. My daughter introduced me to the establishment. Bow Wow Meow carries cat products I have not been able to find anywhere else in the Country. Bow Wow Meow is ALL THAT!

not very gentle / too many pets at once / not the cleanest place I went once for grooming and never went back... BUT they have a good selection on ""stuff"" from raw food to collers and t-shirts, books and snacks for your dog

I have been a customer for many years, until it was time to return a deffective item. I showed up with my receipt within two days of making the purchase and was turned away based on the fact the owner was not available for validation. Sad to say, they have lost a very good customer.

I take my animals in for nail clipping. I'm always taken right away and it's over painlessly very quickley. And they never complain about dropping in. The price is the best I've found.

I had taken my dog there for a touch up on his hair cut, and he was groomed so well!\nI did ask for specific terrier type cut for his face, and he came back with a puppy cut, but none-the-less, it was done well. He seemed really happy and looked really cute. They gave him a bath and trimmed his nails, I was so pleased with the way he smelled when I picked him up. \nThe retail portion of this business, is simply amazing. They have a great selection, and at decent prices(just a little elevated).\nIf you dont try this place out, you are missing out big-time!

Bow Wow Meow is a very cool place to pick up some presents for that pampered pooch or kitty. I love all of the novelty items they sell. I was so pleasantly surprised that this store is actually reasonable priced too. Other stores of this caliber are much higher priced, meaning I can come here and buy stuff often. My pets simply love when I rturn from this place!

Bow Wow Meow has really cool pet foods and toys, some of which I had no idea were made for pets. It's hard to imagine ice cream and food made with real chicken for dogs, but Bow Wow Meow has them! Reasonably-priced on most of their items, but they do not have a super wide variety of things (but the things they do have are really cool).

This is a very fun pet store and groomer. The people are always very nice (although occassionally wacky). There are usually cute dogs and cats to see. And, the store has a nice selection of fun toys, treats, cards, bowls, beds, food, litterboxes, and cat-trees. Granted, I haven't found any toys that interest my cats for more than a few minutes, but that probably has more to do with the nature of cats than the toys. ...Ping-pong balls seem to work pretty well. Bow Wow Meow also does a nice job grooming animals. For kicks, if you have a domestic longhair cat, try the "lion's cut" for summer. Sure, my man-cat looked like his dignity had been sheered away, but it sure was funny! (...and cooler for summer) Also, be sure to catch the SPCA kittens they have outside on some Saturdays. Great shop! Great place for pet-lovers to kill some time on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

PROS: Nice Staff, Cool Stuff, Cute Animals, Nice job on Grooming
