You will not regret it. Granted it's a bit pricey, but I would have to say well worth it, if you go on the right nights. I recommend going on a wednesday night for college night. Show your college ID for a free refill, Live DJ spinning, cant complain with that. or if you want a chill night go on tuesdays, its movie night. Its not too loud and you can actually hear the movies playing! But by far the best night to go, is every first sunday of the month, Hip Hop night. Its all about underground hip hop at the source. Live turntablism, open mic, b-boys, poppers, dance crews, tons of fun. Talk all the smack you want, Hookah Source beats all the others by a long shot if you want a place that doesnt just serve your hookah and walk away while you listen to their native music all night. Hookah Source is a place for college students, so dont expect it to be quiet people...

okay so i actually hookah 2-3 times a week...went to hookah source this past weekend. i hadnt been there for about a year since the hookah isnt that great. i wouldnt recommend this place to ANYONE..hookah for 24 bux? Theres another hookah bar in encino called "the spot" which is cheaper and a better experience. the bowls are bigger and last longer, and the shiesha used is a better quality.

The Hookah Source is kind of a hard lounge to find. The enterance seems like your going through a hole in the wall but once you get down the stairs you see why most college kids love this place. There bowls are not the biggest i have had but their mojito mix is honestly one of the best bowls i have had in my life! The owner is very nice and the whole staff are more like friends then the usual fake waitress that is just trying to get a good tip. Almost every night they have some theme going on. I like Teusdays the best becuase they have the most recent released movies playing. Overall i would tell anyone and everyone to go try out the hookah source. Plus if you get there before 7 30pm its happy hour with half off hookahs. How can you loose?

I don't think I have ever paid so much for a hookah in my life! The total came out to more than $24 for a single hookah! There must be a cover charge they don't tell you about because I ordered a hookah that was supposedly $15 and $3 extra to mix with another flavor. I wouldn't mind paying $24 at a few other hookah bars that I frequent, but Hookah Source uses TINY bowls to store the tobacco in. I didn't even know they made bowls that small. A person who has smoked a few hookahs will notice that the smoking sessions are noticeably shorter. The music is ridiculously loud, the DJs are mediocre at best, more of an annoyance and debauchery of the music they are trying to spin.
Unfortunately for Northridge residents, I am not sure of too many other hookah bars in the area, I had to drive down from SCV to visit this one and ended up extremely disappointed despite the two previous positive reviews of the lounge. They had fine service, just charge too much for too little. I feel like the owners are just exploiting the 18-year -old Hookah "fad".

In my case, Hookah Source is aptly named, being my primary source of all things Hookah. I disagree with the review below me, They sometimes have DJs, but most often when I go, there is some really intelligent underground Hip Hop playing as a background to the dark, smoky, atmosphere. There are games, and a billiards table, but most of all its just the most comfortable relaxed hookah spot i've been to. The service is great, they treat you like friends rather than customers, giving great recommendations, and really taking care of you when you buy tobacco for yourself. (i've gotten many the free box when getting several). I recommend it to everyone I know, and it's definitely a place to check out if you're a fan of Hookah.

In small parking lot next to a ROSS is the business Hookah Source. There is a cool room with chairs, benches, pool tables and funky stools. You buy flavors of tabacco and they bring you a hookah. There are screens on the wall which plays movies you can't here. Most nights there is a DJ and the music is really loud. But it's a really cool place, the crowd is very diverse and you'll often see people break dancing. One of the touches I really enjoy is there are games to play at every table. It's a really cool place to just hang out with friends but you have to shout if you want to talk.
