I have been eating Ramona's Burritos for 50 years. As a kid, loved the hotdog burrito with chili and cheese. Advanced to the the variety box and discovered they actually had other types. Liked them all. Finally, went to the so called restaurant, which it is not and LOVED the food. Yes, I agree, the service is questionable, but being that busy and working over steam trays and around ovens, not fun. The taquito shells have never seemed fresh and crunchy. I do like the tacos but the shells are sometimes not crunchy either, but still love the flavors. The burritos are flavor-filled. The thing I like best is the fact that the flavors and textures of the meat and other fillings are consistent. The tastes of the food at any restaurant are really individual preference and if your mom or grandmother make them the way you like better, you may feel differently than I do. For me, they are way better than what I can make and I'm an excellent cook. I like the fact that the food is spicy without being too spicy, beans and rice are always optional and fortunately, you can get the frozen ones at Smart and Final. I have read the stories about getting a different product from what is on the label, but I have yet to experience this mishap. You can buy tortillas for $.24 a dozen in the bulk area as well as fresh containers of beef and potato, beans, rice etc. to make your own burritos at home. You can also purchase the frozen products at the bulk area as well. The ONLY downside, is, you have to eat in your car if you live to far as I do. But on the other hand, just buy the fresh and make your own at home! Just remember, taste is a personal choice. I love Mexican food and I'm not talking Alcapulco's or El Torito's. I don't think Ramona's is necessarily the "real deal" but it's definitely the "real California deal"! YUM!!!

You get the feeling from the staff that service isnt one of their strong suits. The burritos they make are excellent, so as long as they get my order right and get it to me promptly, i will continue to return.

Pros: Burritos

Cons: Service

.

Not the place to go for service! But they have excellent burritos! They've been here for years. Freshly made burritos and so many choices to choose from, best to buy by the dozens.

The burritos are excellent. I love the rice and beans w/extra cheese.

The taco are not good at all and the taquitos are hard as hell.

The service is ok, the ladies behind the counter have attitude and have to be reminded and if did not frequent the establishment they would not have jobs.

The prices are good and worth the drive.

I order each time I go here, a red burrito with cheese, beans, rice and avocado sauce and for $3 or less, I love it!

I am really not too keen on any of the tacos but the burrito is good to me.

Parking can be a hassle on the weekend at lunch time but otherwise its worth the drive.

Everyone talks about Ramona's like it is the best Mexican Food in town. I hate it, they give you 6 little peices of meat and then charge you $4 for extra meat. I will never go back.
