I purchased the vehicle from Surf City Nissan/HB Nissan12/27/10. I purchased the extended warranties from them as well. I had problems from day one. The break would squeak and they told me they checked it out and there was no problem,

Terrible sales and customer service practices. They have made false promises but do not deliver after the sale is over. I purchases a Nissan Murano from them. They got me in the door by quoting an ultra low price. When I got there, they said it was a mistake and gave me a higher price, but said they'd make it up w/ other things (free cargo nets, 2 free oil changes anywhere, etc). After the salesperson (Sam Anderson) said he sent the next day, it ended up taking 2 months and multiple calls and emails to the manager to get them. Now that I've hit 4k miles and want my oil change, they are reneging on that as well (despite the fact I have an email from them saying they'd pay for it anywhere). Below is the back and forth responses from them through the Better Business Bureau where they basically have given me a big F-You (btw, BBB has been the only way to even get that as they refuse to return any phone calls or emails). Note- initial complaint omitted for space. In the end, beware as these are horrible people and a systematically corrupt place.

Ever since sale, have been very unresponsive to follow-ups (e.g. promised cargo nets, 2 free oil changes) and unpleasant to work with.
Resolution Sought
Provide me with the 2 free oil changes as they had promised upon sale of vehicle. I would like them to honor this oil change at a different Nissan service center than theirs (they said it was fully transferable). In general, would like to have emails and phone calls returned (sales person Sam Andreson, head of sales Fred Anguila, and manager Larry Smith have all been equally unhelpful and at times rude).

surf city has honored eveything promised to Mr.Chan. Nothing seems to be exceptable at all to him. Mr. Chan was offered 2 oil changes at our dealership. We can honor them at another dealer. He his more than welcome to bring his car here.If the price was too high he didn't have to buy the car. We thank Mr.Chan for his business and wish him the best.

If Surf City honors 2 oil changes at a dealership of our choosing, as indicated in this response ("We can honor them at another dealer"), and indicated in an email we have from time of purchase, then I would be satisfied on this request. However, when I last spoke to dealership (JP), he emphatically told me he would not honor at another dealership. For record, our standards are not extraordinary. We've simply requested a response from our salesperson (has not responded to emails or calls for 3+ months), and living up to promises (e.g., oil changes honored anywhere, timely delivery of cargo nets and car manual, resolution to issues with our entertainment system). None of those things have been solved timely (we've been trying to get an oil change for 3 weeks now) and getting a response is like pulling teeth. We have records of email after email we've sent without response as well as initial emails of what are now empty and false promises. We challenge them to produce any records of responding promptly or good customer service! Regardless of this outcome, we will review on blogs to warn others of this business' poor practices and work to have them removed from Amex auto prog

I bought a car there a few years ago. They sold me a warranty that was not valid due to faulty paperwork on their side. I have been asking for my refund for this for about 1 year now. The warranty company INDS already refunded their portion of the refund and now I'm waiting for Douglas Nissan/Douglas Hyundai to fulfill their obligation, which they have admitted to. Bank of America, INDS, and Douglas brands have all admitted to the foul up but they are taking their sweet time. www.douglasnissan.blogspot dot com.

I wonder how many consumers out there have been swindled by this company, Bank of America no longer grants loans to them because of this.

PLEASE SHOP SOMEWHERE HONEST!!! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF AND YOU WON'T KNOW UNTIL YOU TAKE YOUR CAR IN TO FIND OUT YOUR WARRANTY ISN'T VALID. THEY NEVER RETURN CALLS. WORST BUSINESS EVER!!!

I bought my car through the Ineternet department from Chad. I had recieved several quotes from other dealers over a few days. I went to Connel Nissan who had the lowest price, but when I got there everything changed. I ended up a Surf City Nissan and what they promissed was what they delivered. I was in and out of there in a little over an hour with a beautifu new Altima coupe at a great price. They also saved me 3% in interest. Would highly recomend to anyone looking for a Nissan.

I didn't purchase a car at this location, so maybe that's why they treated me so poorly. I spoke with the other location and they could organize it so they could pay for it, rather than the HB Nissan. HB Nissan refused to do such a thing, didn't know what they were talking about, and were definitely not willing to think outside the box to at least try to help me out. Now I won't ever use them and will make sure to tell everyone I know not to use them.
