You might see a decent price here but it will cost you more in the end. ?I had problems with the sofa I purchased. The sales staff was rude and did not want to be bothered, ended up having to take the problem to upper management. Customer service is not in their vocabulary. They will not return your call, if you are lucky enough to reach them they will hang up on you. The rudest most ignorant bunch I have ever encountered. If you make the mistake of purchasing something at AL'S remember once it leaves their store it's yours and any problems you have with the item is yours as well. Additionally, warranties mean nothing here, so don't count on that either. ?The excellent service comment I see here only applies if you have your checkbook or credit card out and are making a purchase. After that you do not exist.

I was initially thrilled that I found this store, especially when I saw that they had the exact same bedroom set that I had seen at Plummers, but for $700 less. The purchase couldn't have been easier, and Brett was great to deal with. The challenge came when I asked to exchange the dresser due to a manufacturer defect. The company agreed to the exchange right away, but the delivery team dragged the replacement into my apartment on its side and damaged the front corner in the process. When I asked to have the original dresser returned, as it was in better condition than the replacement, the company again agreed, but it was returned with a scraped side due the same neglectful delivery team. When I called the company to schedule a third exchange, the appointment scheduler was curt and hung up on me. I realize that the situation is probably just as frustrating for them, but the damage was caused by their employees, and I am the one staying home on four separate occasions in hopes of resolving this issue. Bottom line, if price is your main concern and you have plenty of time to spend on the phone and stuck at home waiting for deliveries, then give Al's a try.

I ordered a bedroom set and a couch. The dresser was broken and had to wait 11 days to get it replaced. Plus, none of the 5 calls I put in were ever returned. When the replacement finally arrived (after the delivery was over 4 hours late), the delivery men bashed it against the cement wall outside, taking out a chunk of wood. I immediately made them take it back. I am currently awaiting my new dresser. Al's has been very defensive about the situation, saying it is much more frustrating for them. I do reccomend Al's for good deals on furniture, but be prepared for delivery issues and frustrations. Also, make sure you are ready to bargain when you go in.

Bought a NEARLY $2000 sofa from them, they said they'd have it in 2 weeks, it took more than 4. Didn't call me on their own to tell my why I'd heard nothing in the time period quoted. Had to hound them to death to ever get answers. They don't always answer phone during posted hours, don't follow any of their own rules, didn't keep ANY of their promises to me - as small as what time to call, to as large as when they'd deliver, when they'd know that they were delivering, when somebody'd call back, etc. It just seems like a very poorly run mom and pop w/demoralized, unempowered, English-as-a-second-language employees who don't give a HOOT since they are treated like peasants AND/or given no power to help customers. Had to wait 8 hrs for delivery when was supposed to have a couple hour time slot. Lied repeatedly ahead of time about delivery and then lied 2 more times on the actual day of delivery. Drivers were so irresponsible, they w/o knowing if I paid for the couch or not. Since there's no accountability, they can do whatever they want. I love to support small business, but not when it's at my expense in addition to the money I'm shelling out for an actual item. Didn't feel valued, felt dropped off and badly treated as soon as they had my money - could never get the salesperson (only native speaker of English in the store) on the phone EVER again after I'd paid (yet before I'd received my merchandise.) That was my experience. I hate the BIG chain furniture stores, but this type of thing would have never happened at one of those - heads would have rolled, or discounts would have flowed.

In August, I purchased a platform bed and pillowtop for $400 delivered in 3 weeks. I did not receive anything. I called was told that the manufacturer was having difficulties and they would send out my mattress immediately. I called several times the next 5 months and was told the same thing. During one call they were very rude saying that I was a liar the frame was already sent. The manager was never available. I got hung up on once. They could not "find" the original receipt; all I had was my word that I never received the frame. My mother-in-law called and threatened to expose them on TV(her husband produced the Maury Povich Show). They apologized and delivered my frame immediately on Superbowl Sunday! It took >6 months to complete my order and I paid upfront with a check.

I will NEVER shop at that horrible place again.
