Huntington Beach Hot Yoga

I wasn't real keen on this place.
Some instructors were great others reminded me of Minnie Mouse (and I don't say that lightly).
I'm happy my membership lapsed. Oh no, wait, I remember, it was supposed to but it didn't and I had to cancel it.

this place has irregular heating...it can get super hot depending on which day you go and when. I agree with Robert. Drinking water should not be restricted to certain time periods. That's just not smart. I have seen people get ill in there. One girl fell down, an instructor left the room to vomit, etc. Hot yoga is not really a safe long term fitness routine if it is practiced too often. Your body will wear down.

I brought a friend who was new to hot yoga and had not drank enough water, early in the class she became ill and needed to lie down, when she tried to drink water the instructor yelled at her and told her to wait until she was instructed to do so. When she tried to leave the room the instructor scolded her and told her to come back and lie down. I have been a volunteer fireman for seven years and have seen dehydration and heat stroke, and I know how to treat it. It is a medical emergency and people need lots of water and get them out of the heat and as cold as possible before there brain cooks. This studio seems to think it is healthy to "press through this." That is a recipe for disaster. After speaking to the owner, I was told that he teaches all his teachers to not let people leave, and not to drink water until they are told. I love hot yoga and it works for me, but I will not take anyone new to this studio unless I go to watch them. They trust themselves to these instructors who are being taught a very dangerous practice.

There are 4 (weekends) to 7 (weekdays) classes available. The studio is very clean and has nice locker rooms. The instructors are friendly and well-trained.

The studio is clean and well maintained, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Huntington Beach Hot Yoga is in a convenient location, with plenty of parking.
