CERTAINLY NOT BEAUJOLAIS - Poor representation or even attempt at French food.

How can you possibly own a French restaurant and not know how to make good French onion soup and to add insult to injury serve it luke warm. When we sent it

We were there for a birthday dinner. We had a reservation and they said that they "might be able to fit us in in 45 minutes" but that it would be tough. What was the point of having a reservation? They offered us nothing to

This place is a real find, I don't know why more people haven't discovered it and ruined the intimate atmosphere, but hey! Better for us! It is hidden away in a 1917 California craftsman style house-turned restaurant about 15 years ago.

I've been to this restaurant a number of times and it seriously gets better and better. It's a quiet little restaurant that you can't find unless you know it's there, the servers are authentically French (all that goes with that), and the food is fantastic! I totally recommend it!

My boyfriend of two years took me to this restaurant for our second date....It took us 30 minutes to find it and we kept having to call and push back the reservation, but once we did, it was definitely worth the wait. It's on a small street and almost invisible to the naked eye but once you walk into the lobby area and through the double doors you enter the coziest, darkly lit room with a friendly staff and romantic ambiance.

The food was delicious! I had a salmon dish and my boyfriend had a juicy chicken dish. It was perfectly cooked and tasted like nothing I'd ever had before. My boyfriend is a very picky eater but as his first experience with salmon being a very positive one, he still eats salmon to this day. It was a great place for us to eat, chat and enjoy our second date! I liked it so much that I've been looking at their sister restaurants....

I highly recommend this place if you're looking to impress a date... we still look back and it's one of our favorite first memories, shared at Cafe Des Artistes...
