Mary Linn's Made Me Happy!
by Jeannette B.
Buying dresses for a bridal party is an emotional experience, but all the negative reviews surprise me. I am mother of a bride and am determined NOT to wear something frumpy. I found a stunning gown online that is only available in NYC, but I'm in Pasadena. I went to Mary Linn's and asked if they could help. They could not have been more accommodating and helpful. They special-ordered my dress even though it is not part of a line they carry. My daughter and her bridal party all live in different cities coast to coast, so MaryLinn's knew they would not be getting other business from me. Yet they have been nothing but courteous, helpful, and comforting -- Just the experience I would hope for and expect in a bridal salon. I am a happy customer and will look there in the future for evening gowns if an occasion arises.

GREAT EXPERIENCE!
by Veronica V.
Wow I cant believe all the bad reviews. I made an appt. for a Saturday afternoon not knowing they were having a sample sale that day. When I got there all the rooms were taken but when I told them it was 15 minutes after my appt. they immediately found a great room for me with a great girl. Her name is Nora. Absolutely wonderful! My mom was a little under the weather and Nora made sure she had plenty of water and tissue for when the happy tears came. I had just gotten engaged. No date was set and planning hadn't really even begun. But i wanted to try on dresses to get an idea of what I really wanted. Well I ended up buying my dress that day. And I got 40% off. Plus they let me make payments. I'm a middle class Hispanic girl so they definitely weren't expecting the biggest sale from me but they sure treated me like it. Best experience I could've asked for. Ask for Nora.

BEST PLACE EVER!

I looked for dresses EVERYWHERE and this place was the BEST. Nice, down to earth employees who don't pressure and are happy to help. After several horrifying dress shopping experiences, I was relieved to finally find this place!

WOWWWW AWESOME
by Rachel R.
Another store screwed up my order, 5 weeks before the wedding i was told by them that they lost my order and they wont be able to get my dress in on time.My best friend got her dress from Mary Linns in Pasadena and told me that if there is a store who can do it, its them.I went but i had no faith , thinking the other one had almost 6 months and could not do it and due to my size i was not able to purchase a dress off the rack, but guess what? the order was placed ,they were nice enough to waive the rush fee and have the gown in with in 4 weeks and they did a rush alterations for me.I cant thank them enough. I got married in a dress wanted not something i had to.

Know your ABC's
by celine c.
I was so scared at first to swing by to this store after hearing all the hearsays about their store having horrible customer service and all that but after seeing it for myself - it can't be real. i recommend before trying on wedding dresses you should do your research and at least that way you know what you're getting yourself into and you're not complaining about total nonsense. 1. If you're getting a couture dress - PLS its not like macys or nordstroms that you can buy a dress of the rack. IT HAS TO BE ORDERED. and if you want it to fit you nicely - of course alterations has to be done and for the quality of work they do in your dress - ITS WORTH every penny. I ordered mine and it came 6 months after (they say its between 6-9) - GOOD.2.3. I was a 5'4" and all dresses are usually made for 5'8" so they had to do hemming to it and some bussels too so i could dance all night ( it was so cute!!) they charged me $500 which i think was reasonable after doing all the work in it (and take note my dress has lots of beading) with pressing included i dont think thats too much for a wedding dress!!Everybody in that store was professional, they would call you ahead of time to inform you the status of your dress.. the store and the staff were great. They have thousands of dresses and they dress nicely and they make you feel very comfy too.. I know this kind of reviews are very subjective but i feel bad that this store are beaten up over some nonsence objective facts.. i had the best time in this store.. thank you Marylinn's =)

very rude customer service
by sam a.
I went there today to look at gowns with my family. I was treated hostily by the store manager. I also noticed that she was very rude with another customer who was merely looking at the gowns. Don't waste your time at this place. They are unprofessional and more interested in deep pockets than ensuring customer satisfaction.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! AVOID!
by Paz L.
I went to the Pasadena Mary Linn store and received the worst customer service i have EVER experienced. I even had an appointment and it was bad. They don't greet you when you come in, there was no one available for my appointment, a sales lady told me that that the person that was supposed to help me went out for coffee. So i decided to pick out dresses that i wanted to try on, i continued to wait only to see two other girls that came in after me get helped before me. I waited 5 more minutes and left without trying on a single dress. Absolutely the worst customer service ever! Avoid Mary Linn at all costs. It was a complete waste of my time, and I'm so glad i didn't wast anymore time or money there.

Best shopping experience ever. I visited various shops, but came back to Marylynn's bridal because of their exceptional service. Ceci was extremely helpful. She helped me find the dress that look the best on me. I would recommend Ceci to everyone. My dress was early. They held the dress for me until the night before my wedding. The alterations were perfect. My bridesmaid dresses also came in on time. They even helped my bridesmaids that were out of state.

No pressure but my own...
by Mel S.
My wedding is coming up in late October, and like many brides I started my actual search right on time. Just a little over two weeks ago my mom and I made our first visit to a bridal store, it happened to be Marylinn's. We were greeted by a young woman who let us know a consultant would meet up with us as we walked through the store. A couple minutes later a young woman approached us and introduced herself and started showing us where some of the styles I liked were. I found my dress that same day, we all knew it, but I asked for my top three dresses to be written down. Needless to say I couldn't just by the first dress I loved I had to try to go to other stores and compare...nothing compared! My mom, sis. and I went back this past Sunday and re-tried my dress, we all agreed that I had to just buy the dress. I loved the dress, I had a great time at Marylinn's, the young woman clipped me better in those dresses than anyone else at all the other places. I've read the other reviews and all I can say is that I'm sure that there are a lot more happy brides than unhappy ones otherwise they wouldn't be in business. I am very comfortable with the staff and the beautiful store. Marylinn's is not near my home and I could have bought a very similar dress and been fine with it but I was treated with respect and I was never pressured by the young woman or the store to buy. I knew I wanted to buy by this week so I could move on to something else on the endless list of things to do for a wedding. The sore is beautiful as is their selection. I highly recommend Marylinn's!!

Great Service...
by Aylin B.
I really do not understand what the fuss is...i bought my gown at marylinns, my sister got hers and my sister in law too. Basically I have been working with them for over 3 years, and each and every time all the girls there have been awfully nice and helpful. I had to write this because I read all the negative reviews and just wanted to say that all three of us had wonderful experiences.

My friend Referred...
by Sonia M.
My friend bought her gown, bridesmaids and rented tuxedos here two years ago. Her gown and everything else went great. I went with her to all of her fittings and we were always treated very well even when the store was extremely busy. Now it's my turn and this was the only place that I could think of actually purchasing my gown. My wedding is set for October 11, 2008, and I can't wait. My best friend and I are going to try on my favorite dresses this Saturday hopefully to make my decision. The funny thing is that both my best friend and I are working with the same sales associate! I'm confident that she will help me find the gown for me.

They have the cutest party dresses :)
by Sabrine W.
My sister's Deb. Ball is coming up and I still needed a dress. We went for her first fitting and while I waited for her I peeked down a hallway and found myself in a huge room full of all types of dresses, NON-BRIDAL. I was so excited I bought it right away. I didn't know they carried such pretty party dresses and I figured neither would the other girls going to the ball so the whole "wearing the same dress, like prom" wouldn't happen. Now I'm looking forward to this ball.

Back 2 those who care...
by Erika O.
My wedding planing all started 4 months before my wedding, I got married 2 weeks ago, and I always wanted to get my dress from here. I was not aware of the time frame that wedding gowns require, but the ladies were great at helping me make up my mind. I was able to get my gown with a rush which gave me plenty of time for the alterations. I really felt great coming in to the store every time, the entire staff was great even when my original consultant wasn't available. I just dropped of my gown with Marylinn's to get cleaned, and again had a pleasant visit.

My wedding was in December of 2007 and from the first time i walked in there until the day i took my dress back to preserve it, Marylinn's had not only given me wonderful service but has treated me with the utmost respect and really made me feel very special and not like a waste of their time. I was surprised to read all these negative reviews.

Marylinn's = Tradtion
by Susana F.
My sister got married 2 years ago and had a wonderful experience at Maylinn's(where she did purchase, after many other stores). Now that my wedding is coming up I didn't even think twice of where I would get my gown. I knew that finding the perfect gown would be easy here, the store looked even better than what I remembered and the staff was amazing, just as I expected. I will continue to recommend, as well as my family, Marylinn's.

I'm getting married in exactly 6 months. i can't wait to see my beautiful gown!! The gown was a bit expenssive but it's my wedding and I love it!

Keep looking
by Alexis Y.
Well, I had high hopes for this place because I grew up in Pasadena and have walked past the shop window for years. But, my experience was a let down. First of all, I had to wait a 1/2 hour to be helped even though I had an appointment and arrived a 1/2 hour early to be ready. (so I waited an hour). Once I picked out some gowns, I was told that I could only try on 3 or 4 because appointment times were limited. This was frustrating because I had waited some time for my appointment because I work and go to school full time so my free time is very limited. I was told I could make as many appointments as I wanted to try on more dresses. Should I have come back 4 times to be able to try ones I like? After trying on 3 dresses, I went out of the dressing room to look for one more I had seen earlier. I overheard the manager telling the woman that was helping me "tell her we're closing." It was 3:25 and they close at 4 pm. I felt hurried to get out of there. From start to finish, the salesperson spent a total of 30 whole minutes with me. This place definitely lacks the professionalism and customer service of an upscale bridal boutique. I would not like to go back, except they have the designer I want... but from all the negative reviews about overcharging and badly done alterations I'm scared! I would keep looking if I were you. By the way, take a look at the better business bureau. I review from another website directed me there. They have 4 complaints over the past 36 months....

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
by Anonymous
After reading an inviting OPEN at the entrance, I walked in Mary Linn's Bridal Store. None of the attendants acknowledged my presence while I waited for service. I tried to get eye contact with any employee, but my looks went unnoticed. Finally, after walking up to a desk of ladies ignoring me, I was approached by an icy lady who seemed burdened by my visit, and dryly said, May I help you. I asked to try on wedding dresses, but she said, We only take appointments. Besides, were closing in 20 minutes. When is the wedding?
Wow! I can take a cold shower at home!
After ignoring her abrupt question, I explained that I would first like to know if a dress of my liking was in stock. She attacked: Who is the designer? But I was proud to reveal that I wanted a style of my own, which I had already sketched. The attendee pointed at a bridesmaid dress in the window display and walked away, leaving me alone.
Funny thing is, I was ready to make an appointment for another day, browse their selection, and maybe even make a purchase. Not anymore. Little did they know, I was making plans for 2 weddings in 2 different countries. Most of my family members would have been their customers.
Ah! tant pis pour eux ;)

WORST service received in all my experieces in the U.S. and abroad!
by Ms. P.
As countless other individuals reported how horrible the service at Marilynn's Bridal (in Pasadena, CA) is, I am reconfirming the horrendous customer service provided at the bridal store. Although I was given time and individual attention when I was making my purchase, after the financial transaction, I was completely ignored when I went to pick up my products (after all, I was no longer beneficial for their business). I had to ask multiple times for help with trying on my dress, was given a veil with no blusher, and was not told about the extra costs (in the hundreds) for pressing and bustling my dress at time of purchase. Although I requested to speak with the owner of the store, he refused to speak with me over the phone, and had a salesperson speak on his behalf, who showed no concern about my complaints. I made a TERRIBLE MISTAKE of buying my bridal dress, tiara, and veil from Marilynn's bridal, and had heightened levels of stress and anxiety right before my wedding b/c of their lack of care and concern. I would NEVER want any bride to go through what I went through with Marilynn's Bridal.
Marilynns has officially provided me with the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have experienced in over 25 locations within the U.S. and other countriesincluding experiences in 1st world through 3rd world countries in the world. TERRIBLE, HORRENDOUS, NERVEWRECKING, and UNPROFESSIONAL.

MISERABLE
by Anonymous
I won't say how....but I know FOR A FACT they have their employees write the GOOD and PRAISEWORTHY comments. It's all a hoax.
The stories are true. Yes. They have great wedding gown selection (not bridesmaid or mother), and while they TRY to be nice, they are not, even if you plan to spend a lot of money--which if you go there, you will spend more than you'd hoped, GUARANTEED. They are not trained, nor do they understand at all what customer service is. They lie to cover their asses. The alterations are terrible bc the seamstresses are old and stubborn. They blame their mistakes on other people and get offended when you're upset at their wrong doings. They literally THREATEN people. It's all disgusting.
Thank you Michelle, you were great. Thank you for your help and positive attitude. The rest of you are awful. The manager needs to be fired.
Don't buy here. That's all I will say.

Confused as to how they still stay in business
Mind you, I have been blessed, and could afford to drop Mary Linn's prices 5x over for a dress if it is what I wanted. But the only way I could imagine anyone doing so would be if they hadn't been anywhere that actually treated them like a human being, or because they felt pressure into buying at such a pathetically snooty store. It must, for many, just be a whirlwind confusion where you get out of the store and say what on earth did I just do and how did I ever let myself get linked up with these idiotic people who think FAR too highly of themselves.
I am always shocked at how the saleswomen interact with their clients, including myself. I was treated like a waste of time until through the window members of my party drove up in expensive cars. When they entered and came to me, I suddenly got attention.
When my sister was looking for a deb gown, and had on a pricey gown, they were falling over themselves trying to sell it. And it looked like crap! And when my grandmother pointed it out they shot her nasty looks. WHO SHOOTS NASTY LOOKS TO A GRANDMA! Perhaps if they were better to their customers they could get more, charge more reasonable prices, and not have to push so hard once they find a sucker.
Go to Yelenas instead. We have taken to using Mary Linns only to try on dresses we think we might like that Yelenas doesn't have in stock. Even then, its painful.

Highest Compliments
by Sylviane O.
I was shocked to read some of the negative reviews about Mary Linns. I had an excellent experience and give my highest compliments to the entire staff, from the gown consultant to the seamstress. Each member of their team had a great attitude and were very accommodating. I ordered my dress with only 4 months for delivery and they placed a super super rush on it (coming from Barcelona). To my surprise, my dress arrived 6 weeks early. They also were kind enough to accommodate with my schedule and arranged for me to have my alteration appointments on Saturdays. My experience with Mary Linns was first rate and they made the entire dress process very memorable.

Others who have complained may have the David's Bridal mentality -- wanting to be able to get a dress off the rack and have an instant -ready wedding dress.
Did the one disgruntled girl think that perhaps the two who were talking were on a much needed break? Maybe you have to have worked in high-pressure retail to realize that in a lot of shops. The salespeople get few breaks during their day.
I worked with a young woman -- Sarah. She really made me feel comfortable and made a stressful experience wonderful. She gave me much more than the alloted hour's time, too. She looked beyond my ethnicity, and I certainly don't look like I have money to burn, by the way!

Poor Service and Poor Penance

My mother and I decided to make our first visit to a bridal salon today. We had just received good news after my mother had a health scare and decided to celebrate by visiting Mary Linn's. As soon as I arrived, I acknowledged that I did not have an appointment but would be interested in meeting with staff if someone is available. I was told to browse the racks and they would see if anyone was available. I took their advice and looked around waiting patiently to see if an available staff person would approach me. I realized that there was no one else in the store. I also noticed that the two young ladies I originally approached were having a casual conversation about non-bridal topics. I decided to approach the two young ladies to see if they had found available staff. They let me know that everyone was busy doing paperwork but they would get to me in 30 minutes. I saw only one young woman (dark hair with highlights) legitimately doing paperwork. I was very disappointed and called the Santa Barbara store in hopes that they could recommend an associate other than the two in the store this afternoon. The associate in Santa Barbara named Nicole was very apologetic and helpful. She was the only part of the experience that was good (visit her in Santa Barbara). She agreed to have someone call me to address my concerns and help me with a future visit. Twenty minutes later I received a phone call from a man named Ray that was a fourth person I spied in the room that day. He made excuses for the staff, admitted he heard the conversation but did not intervene, and offered me a pair of free shoes should I decide to buy a dress. He closed with "We try not to bombard our customers ... I will have Michelle call you to set up a future appointment." I am glad I visited Insider Pages before giving them a second chance. It turns out they dont discriminate .. they consistently offer bad service to all their customers free of charge! If they call back (which I sincerely doubt they will) I plan on letting them know I no longer have a desire to set up an appointment with a bridal store that ranks a meager 2 out of 5 stars and offers a pair of petty shoes as a peace offering. I plan on giving this store one star only because it is technically impossible to request a ZERO STAR RATING.

Bad Service!!!!!!!
by Anonymous
This Sunday I attended the Marylinns Bridal in Pasadena. I want to communicate that I have never received such terrible customer service in my entire life! I had heard really great things about the place and was very dissapointed. I called at 10:52 am to inquire about the try-on process. I wanted to know whether I could just walk in or whether I needed an appointment. The woman who answered very nicely informed me that I could not try on any dresses unless I had an appointment, but that I was welcomed to come in and look at the dresses. In addition, she stated that a couple designers would be there so that it might be quite busy. I decided that the drive was worth it, and that I would go look at the dresses and then decide wether I wanted to make an appt or not. When my friend an I arrived the door was locked, we knocked and someone opened the door. The woman said that the store was not opened to the general public on that day. I informed her that I had called and that I was told that I could come in to look at the dresses. She wasn't too happy with my answer and then said, "Ok come in" Wow talk about customer service! As my friend and I were looking at the dresses there were girls trying on dresses. When one of the girls came out of the dressing room my friend and I looked at them admiring how great the dresses looked. One of the girsl that was trying on a dress and I started a short conversation about how great the first dress that she tried on looked and about each others wedding dates. As we were talking a young woman in curly black hair asked the designer who we were and gave us a nasty look. First of all, why would anyone in the right mind buy a $4,000.00 dress at a store where they don't understand customer service. I was really turned off by the rude people at this location. Only a young blonde woman smiled nicely at us. I ask myself were the workers not as polite because we weren't white and carrying PRADA bags in our hands. Did they assume we didn't have enough money to buy a designer dress. It seems to me that Marylinns bridal has a lot to learn from its competitors. Reputation makes you or brakes you. Statistics show that people are more likely to share about bad exepriences at businesses rather than postive experiences. As for me, I will not hesitate to inform as many brides as I can about the unprofessional staff at this establishment.

Bought my wedding dress here. Good selection, but ridiculously expensive.
The staff is very rude and unpleasant to work with. They were rude to us until they realized we were actually going to buy a nice dress, and then they were suddenly much warmer - a total turn off. You should treat people nicely because they are people, not because they spend money in your store.

My Dream Wedding
by PATRICIA R.
I have good things to say about this store. I just purchased my wedding dress there. (And my dress had the designer tag in it by Henry Roth, and my consultant even told me who it was) She was honest and very professional. And I called to see when I should expect my dress, and she gave me a date. I am so excited, and hope every bride is as lucky as I was. Good luck!
PROS: Good help! FOUND "THE DRESS!"
CONS: nothing so far...

GREAT EXPERIENCE
by M.B. M.
I HAD A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE AT MARY LINN'S. THE SALES TEAM WAS VERY KIND AND KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND HELPED ME FIND MY DREAM DRESS! THE PRICES WEREN'T ANY DIFFERENT FROM OTHER HIGH END BOUTIQUES--IE MON AMIE, ETC. THEY HAVE A GOOD SELECTION TOO, IT WAS REALLY ENDLESS. THE ALTERATIONS WERE SO SO SO GOOD, PRICY, BUT I DON'T CARE. MY DRESS FIT PERFECTLY AND STAYED THAT WAY THRU THE NIGHT. I WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANY BRIDE, YOU MUST SEE THIS SELECTION. CHECK IT OUT, SINCE MY EXPERIENCE WAS NOT AT ALL THE SAME FROM ALL THE BAD REVIEWS.
PROS: GOOD SERVICE, SELECTION, ALTERATION, ETC.
CONS: NO ALTERATIONS ON WKND.

Are you kidding me. Horrible, Horrible Horrible.
by n n.
Wow. I can believe the hassle and stress I was put through at the Pasadena shop. The sales women were unbearable to work with, with the exception of the nice blond girl. The women they have working there are rude and very inconsiderate and I am not at all happy with the service that was provided. Granted the selection of dresses were tolerable and I found a dress that I love. But I would have gladly gone somewhere else if I would have known what would happen after the dress was paid for.
I could never get a straight answer out of anyone. I was passed from person to person. The appointments that were made were pointless considering that they forget about me on three different occasions.
This is not what a girl wants when she is purchasing possibly the most important, not to mention the most expensive garment, in her life. I would highly recommend going to another bridal salon.
I have a few friends getting married in the upcoming months and I am steering them clear of this shop, based solely on the women that work there. I have heard other customer complaints of the women there and it makes no sense why they still have jobs.
I will never forget this experience that was ruined. Thank You.
PROS: Zip, zilch, nada
CONS: Hands down the sales women and the price of the dresses and services

I worked with MaryLinn's in Pasadena to order my bridal Gown (A Matthew Christopher) I had bought my dress during a trunk show, got 10% off. I had such a good time, the sales staff was fun, and I just got my dress last month(09/06), it looks great. My dress fits so good, I have an alterations appt next week for the hem. I would reccomend this store, thay have so many dresses, and the staff knows theri stuff.
PROS: lots of dresses, everything you need in one place.
CONS: very busy shop, make your appt ahead of time

Customer Service doesn't exist
by Nicole C.
If you are a bride and are looking for a wonderful experience with your gown, do not go here. They don't understand what customer service is. They are rude, and if you do not seem like you are going to buy, they receive you differently (ie they ignore you or put you down). Do not feel pressured into purchasing from them.
I gave into purchasing from them, and they've caused me to have a nervous breakdown with not returning calls, never having a straight answer to any of my questions like when is my dress arriving. One employee said that if my dress doesn't arrive, that's my problem and I will simply have to eat the cost. The gowns, alteration, veils, and tiaras all cost an arm and a leg, so if you want to actually walk down the aisle with all limbs attached as well as feeling really good about your gown and yourself, then don't come here. They seriously put a bad taste in my mouth about the start of my wedding planning and I regret ever setting foot in there to try and support a local Pasadena store. Pasadena natives don't come here, and anyone who wants to make the trek out to Pasadena for bridal gown shopping, think five times before you decide to make the trek out for this store. Save yourself peace of mind because lord knows you'll be making 1,001 decisions for this wedding and you want them all to be peaceful. This will not be peaceful.
PROS: none
CONS: bad attitude, poor customer service

I've had a wonderful experience at Marylinn's. I had a huge selection to choose from and found "the one", the staff is knowledgeable and pleasant...shocking that I've been dealing with people that are refered to as rude(trully not the case)...I love my gown and I'm getting married soon, yeay :)

Horrible Experience
by W L.
I bought my wedding dress here, but the service is horrible. If not for the designer at the trunk show selling me on the dress, I would not have purchased it here. When it came time to pay, they insisted that I pay in full, instead of paying a 50% deposit. They insisted that I would save on credit card percentage fees. What do I care about percentage fees! They are the ones that need to pay the merchant fees and they are trying to pawn it off on the custome?! When my dress finally arrived, at my fitting, the dress had a huge dirt smudge on the front of the skirt. They reassured me that the spot would be removed. Then they wanted to charge me $500 just to take in the bust! No hemming or anything else was needed, JUSt the bust. Needless to say, I declined and requested to take home the dress. However, the dirty spot was still there on the front of the dress. They tried to remove the the spot, but I could still see it. They said that it was hardly noticeable. The point is, I spent well over $2000 in that store for a BRAND NEW dress and I wanted to take home a brand new CLEAN dress. After making a stink about it, they offered to send it out to their professional cleaner. I am picking it up later this week - we'll see what happens...
PROS: good trunk shows, spacious rooms
CONS: horrible service, expensive alterations

Whoa! Worst of the Worst
by l s.
After dealing with many vendors who sell dresses, I cannot believe the way Mary Linn's treats their customers. Having read some of the abysmal reviews on this site, I tried calling Mary Linn's myself. I told them I wanted to take a look at some of the mother of the bride dresses-- that I would not require personal attention as I was doing some recognaissance for my mother, who lives out of town. I was practically yelled at by the sales person and told there was no way I could come in on the weekend to do that. How strange, I thought, considering most working people use their free time to plan a wedding. Mary Linn's is obtuse at best. Buying dresses should be fun; Mary Linn's takes the joy out of the moment.
PROS: none
CONS: bad treatment beyond imagination

Mixed Experiences Here.
by Emily M.
I got married a few months ago, and went to Mary Linn's to look for a wedding dress on a friend's recommendation. We walked into the store without an appointment, and were literally scolded by two sales girls, which I found to be incredibly rude. We only went back because I saw a dress that had that "It's My Dress" potential.
When we finally went in for our appointment, they were friendly when I was trying on my dress. But, I ended up finding another store that was just as quaint, but much more reasonably priced, in Monrovia (Yelena's Bridal). Still, I had my bridesmaids get their dresses at Mary Linn's... and it ended up being a bit of a disaster. The wrong sized dresses were delivered to two girls, and the store refused to apologize or offer any sort of compensation or remedy. It drove the price of alterations up immensely, which the girls were not happy about.
If you go in, there is a sweet blonde girl who is very friendly and helpful. Everyone else that has helped me in that store could have benefitted from a lesson in customer service.
PROS: nice selection
CONS: expensive, not accurate with orders, some sales girls are rude.

Avoid at all costs! Pretty Woman Experience
by Alesa K.
This place is so bad. They were rude and told me to "check the sales rack" which I did NOT ask for (I was dressed in a nice t-shirt and jeans.) Before I even looked for a dress, I told them I did not want strapless and she said "I doubt we have anything for you. You can look, but I doubt it." I have never been treated so badly and I work in sales. It's not worth having your self-esteem ripped apart to go here.
PROS: NONE
CONS: rude staff, bad hours, not even that nice of dresses

Beautiful Dresses - Bad Service!!

This Bridal Store is not worth a trip. I had an unfortunate experience shopping there...even after making an appointment. Their staff is extremely unhelpful, which is the worst when shopping for bridal dresses! I absolutely loved the dresses I tried on, but the prices were high and with such a bad attitude from everyone working there I didn't even dream of buying my dress there. After standing around for 20 minutes (with an appointment) I wouldn't recommend anyone try this place. Getting married should be a better experience!

Horrible customer service and Rude employees!
by Andrea P.
I would never recommend this bridal place to anyone. They are so rude and do not care about customer service or making money! I saw a bridal gown I really wanted. The salesperson by the name of Meg said that they had just ordered the dress. She did not know when the dress would come in. She was very rude and only showed me 3 dresses to try on that day. I asked to see the dress on the mannequine and she said that after I knew how much it would cost, then I would not want to try it on. 2 months later the dress still has not come in. I called there Beverly hills Mary Linns store and a girl by the name of Dana told me that they have had the dress I waited for 2 months. Dana was very helpful and nice. They said that they would transfer the dress to pasadena so I can try it on. Meg from Pasadena called me the next day and told me that neither one of the stores carries the dress. I wanted to know if that was true, so I called up The beverly hills store and asked them again if they had the dress. Dana assured me that they had it. Meg at the Pasadena store is a lier!!! She is an idiot. It was a blessing in disguise not to order my dress there. They probably would have ordered wrong bridesmaides dresses and would'nt even care. They lost out on me ordering 9 bridesmaids dresses plus my wedding dress. People had warned me about Mary Linns but I did not believe them. I gave this store the benefite of the doubt. The owner Ray did not do anything about this situation either. Next time I will listen when someone tells me they have had the worst experience somewhere. I don't know how this place stays in business! I work in a hair salon in Pasadena and I am not going to ever recommend Mary Linns to anyone! They will for sure know what poor service this store has. I would highly recommend a store in Pasadena called an Elegant Touch on Colorado. Excellent service and I found the dress that I wanted there for a reasonable price.

An Awful Experience

My experience at Mary Linns Bridal and Tuxedoes was awful. When I first walked into the store, I did notice that they had beautiful dresses and a great variety, however, the dresses and clothing were a little pricey. Also, I was constantly being followed when I was looking at the clothing. I felt the customer service was horrible and the employees need to be more respectful of the customers needs. I was asked if I would like some help, however, I replied no. The employee still constantly followed me around the store, and it made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I would not recommend this store to anyone, not only because the clothing is expensive, but, because the customer service was disrespectful.

Horrible Experience
by Victoria W.
Ordered a bridesmaid dress in 10/2004. Arrives mid 3/05 and is the WRONG dress. Wedding in begining of May. Nobody at Marilynns seems even remotely interested in dealing with this problem. The owner told me to cancel the order 5 weeks before the wedding because he didnt want to deal with it.

try other bridal salons first

Mary Linn's in Pasadena offers a much wider selection of bridal gowns than it's sister store in Marina del Rey but with a much snobbier attitude. I attempted several times to make appointments with them to look at bridesmaids and bridal gowns - but was always told that they were completely unavailable. I've also tried to stop by when I was in the area to browse through the bridesmaids gowns - but was ousted out the door by the sales lady who told me that they were having a trunk show. I pretty much gave up and took my business elsewhere.

A Really Bad Experience
by Felicia P.
My experience with Mary Linns Bridal was the worst experience ever! They lost both bridesmaids orders, the owner is rude and one dress arrived 5 1/2 months after it was ordered in the wrong color and wrong cut.

They have a wonderful selection of beautiful gowns, but they were pricey. They have the gowns out so that you can look through them yourself, which is nice. They also have a large sale rack of samples. However, I did find this store to be somewhat more expensive, and it is not where I ultimately purchased my gown. The bridesmaids dresses were all too expensive for me.

They have tons of beautiful dresses lots of designers...but I found that the service wasn't that great. I felt they were a bit cold and snooty. I decided to spend my $$$$ elsewhere. Shopping for your bridal gown should be a fun and joyous experience!

For bridal gowns, I agree that they have a wide variety to choose from, but most of their dresses are 1,000+, with many high end designers. We found those assisting us to be very cold to us and to others who came into the store. I did try on some beautiful dresses, but I did not appreciate the service. Maybe it was a bad day? ...or maybe not.

This bridal store has a great selection of bridesmaid dresses. However, if you purchase from Mary Linn's, you'll be paying at least $150 or more. The dresses are beautiful, so it just depends on how much you expect your bridesmaids to pay. They have a wide selection of some of the most up-to-date dresses. My friend's mom found some beautiful mother-of-the-groom outfits - she actually found quite a few that would have worked well. The service has been helpful and friendly in my past experience. If you're looking for a good bridal store and know what prices to expect, then Mary Linn's is a good choice!
