If you are looking for a mini-trip to Italia but you only are up for a drive to Belmont then I highly recommend A.G. Ferrari Foods on El Camino Real. I just had the Siciliano sandwich (eggplant, roasted peppers & a sort of smoked Riccotta on a seeded roll) that was excellent. You can get all sorts of great imported treats from Italy - everything from olive oils to chocolate to sodas. The sandwiches and salads are really fresh and super high quality. It's slightly pricier than the average deli but it's more than worth it.

PROS: Great Italian Food

When I walked into A G Ferrari, I thought I was in for a real gourmet treat. As I examined the food more closely, it did not really seem appetizing. After waiting for about 10 minutes for the two people behind the counter to help the two customers that were ahead of me, I ordered some lasagna, the tomato and mozzarella salad, some bread, olives, dessert and brought it home. The lasagna was dry, the salad, bread and olives were okay. The dessert was dry too. The prices are expensive for good food, for what I received, it's just an old time rip-off.
