I felt like I was buying a Rolls Royce!
First of all I would like to say that I am a vary paced buyer, I do not fall into all the hype or excitement of whos selling what at what price. My main focus was mainly on customer service and if the establishment is well managed. I was emotionally touched when I had met the sales team at Honda Of Oakland. All their staff and especially that Supervisor name Ray Kwan was extremely helpful, Listened to all my needs and tailored the right plan for my financial needs. As a savvy consumer, I didnt mention to the sales team that I have already shopped around and done all my homework on the best price. Without having to say too much they gave my the bottom line and it was surprisingly much lower than the other competitor like San Leandro, El Cerrito and Dublin Honda. Vary pleased with an outstanding job in listening to my needs and sold me a car without the hassle. I am highly recommending Honda of Oakland for a job well done. I felt like I was buying a Rolls Royce!

Horrible Sales, Service, and Financers at Honda of Oakland
I don't recommend Honda of Oakland, to nobody. Their sales staff, service department, and Financing department, all suck. I bought my new 2007 CRV on June 15th, 08 (Fathers Day). First of all, a new sales guy, William Ngo, tried to help us, but he wasn't expecting us to ask so many questions. He became frustrated, which in turn made us mad. So, he got his Sales Manager Rey (or Ray), who made things a little better for the moment. He apologized on behalf of William. Before he sent us to the financing department, he asked me oh so nicely to give him great reviews when I receive the survey, and in doing so he'll hook me up with free gas, or whatever I asked. That was so sloppy, but we headed to, Angel Perra, in the financing dept, anyway. Well, I opted for a few of the options, which I felt would be good for me. He was friendly, not too pushy, and quick. But after I signed the dotted lines and went to review my car, before leaving, I noticed some things that needed fixing. Again, it is a brand new car, with only 67 miles. There were scratches on the front bumper, the passenger window molding was caving in, the pocket under my radio was caved in, and the tailgate had a dime size rustic hole in it. I brought this to their attention, and they assured me that they would fix it, they would just have to make up a Due Bill, and schedule it with the service department. Well, we scheduled my alarm to be installed, the PSC int./ext. protection to be added, and my Lo-Jack to be installed that following Saturday. On the day of, I had just had my windows tinted and I kindly asked Suzanne Zappulla, in the service department, not to roll down my windows. But what does this crazy lady do, as soon as the words left my mouth, she goes and roll down my driver side window. I was furious. No apology, no look of oops, nothing. Anyway, they did what they had to do, but they had to reschedule me for the window molding, tailgate, pocket, and bumper problem. I had to hunt down William and Ray, all week to make up a new Due Bill and to put a rush on it. So, finally William, who now realize that I am not the sit and wait type of women, finally gives me a call back. He schedules me to come in that next Thursday, but two weeks after I purchased the damn car. And they've had it ever since. I guess they fixed the pocket and the rust hole on the tailgate, but said they would have to order a new bumper, and the window molding would take about a week. But I just received a call yesterday, 07/07/08 at 4:58pm, by Bill Messnik (or however you spell his last name), and he said that the piece for the window won't be in until the end of the month, so if I could come pick up my truck because they could use the space. Pissed me off again. Oh, and William called me last Thursday, regarding the bumper, and said that it would take a week to get the bumper so could I just settle for $300 in cash or $300 worth of accessories. I thought he was crazy. I called Honda of Antioch, priced the bumper and the labor. All together it would have been about $800, and all they wanted to offer me was $300. They must be out of their minds, so I declined the $300 in cash and told him to order the piece. Well, Will said that Ray, is willing to work with me, he'll have Ray give me a call today. It's 11:28am, and obviously I'm not a priority. I don't want the car if it's not ready, with all of those things fixed that they know is wrong with the car. Oh, and I've contacted Angel Perra, to cancel my GAP insurance, spoke to him Thursday too, and he said that he would fax over the form by Monday, July 7th. My 30 day's to cancel will be up on the 14th. He knows this, and I think he is trying to play the waiting game, so that I have to pay that extra money for the pro-rata basis. I left Ray a message that I want out of my contract, because this is not the type of service or agreements that we agreed upon, when I signed the contract. My husband is now calling them, and I'm sure they don't want to hear from him. But I hope that if your searching for a car, Honda that is, that you don't go to Honda of Oakland. Oh, by the way, my husband bought his car a week after I bought mines, and he already received his tags, where's mine? I think this is a shady business, and I will make my way down there today, to talk to them personally.

Like Sharks feeding on you!.Finance Mgr will sell you what you dont need
Have to say that the internet sales part is easy come in for the deal advertised and dont need to haggle with a salesman after their commission, Phillip was easy to deal with
But then you have to go to FINANCE DEPT. Decide before you walk in whether you want the useless extended warranty, maintenance warranty (cars are so reliable and cheaper to maintain nowadays) and or KARR alarm. Finance guys, Kish, Angel and their boss Conelly will bleed you for all your worth. I was told to put add-ons on to my contract and its no problem to take it off if ichange my mind... GOOD LUCK! if you fell for this line.
I stood my ground and still couldnt get them to take off the dollar alam though I managed to get it reduced to still an overpriced amount coz I just wanted out of there after waiting for over 4 hours and successfully got the maintenance warranty off. They will tell you that after you signed the contract that you cant back out. There is a rider that you sign for the extended warranty and you do have 30days. Stand your ground. Dont call them. Go to the dealership. They will have you wait for hours hoping you would go away. Talk to the customers waiting to go to financing and talk them out of buying the useless products and theyll get you in to get you out of there quick.
The internet deals can be good if you dont allow yourself to get hustled by these snaky dirty finance people. If you have good credit you have the upper hand dont forget this.
Good Product, BAD Finance guys! Ok Internet Sales Dept. Buyer beware!!!

stereotypical car salesmen
I knew more about the Honda Fit than the saleman, and I know little about cars in general. I think we were lied at least 5 times. I wanted the car in a certain color that they didn't have, so he made up some lie about how honda has been having problems with that specific color fading on the bumper- sure they have. I left feeling manipulated and pressured. Also, when we went to test drive, the car battery was dead.

Purchase and Maintenance
I bought my Honda Accord from Honda of Oakland in 2000. I knew exactly what I wanted and what I was willing to pay from on internet research. I had to walk out and get called back but got what I wanted.
I would not have liked to go there without being so well prepared; but I think that is true of any sales situation.
Recently I've had it serviced there after many years at <CRAFT> in El Cerrito which is pretty far from my home. I was treated fine but the car just didn't seem to run as well -- nothing specific wrong just the "feel" of the car wasn't right -- so I'm now going to Oakland autoworks on McArthur which came highly recommended.

Excellent customer service & price
I did extensive research via online and contacted every Honda dealer in the bay area and not only was Honda of Oakland able to beat everyone else's price, they made the whole buying process such a cinch. For those in the market of buying a car, don't bother going in to make a deal... just go in to test drive and walk right out and do all your negotiations with the internet dept. and have them compete for your business. I would absolutely recommend them--but do your homework beforehand and know what you want.
PROS: Internet dept. folks
CONS: showroom sales people--don't bother dealing with them

Pregnant woman trying to get warranty money refunded
We purchased a new 2006 Honda Odyssey on April 8, 2006 and paid cash and also bought a $995 extended warranty. I was 8 months pregnant at the time. Consumers have 60 days to cancel an extended warrenty contract per the DEALERSHIP'S OWN PAPERWORK. I changed my mind and told them I was cancelling the warranty. Between April 8th and the 20th, I contacted the dealership and finance manager (Brian), seven (7) times. I called, left messages on his voice mail, spoke to another finance manager (Sid) and he lied to me about the "warranty computer website being down" and therefore he couldn't help me. It was so obvious he was lying. I told Sid, "You mean to tell me that if I came down there now, and bought a car, you couldn't sell it to me because the computer is down?" I spoke to Brian on the 14th and he said he would fax the "cancellation paperwork" to me over the Easter holiday weekend. I never received it. I spoke to him on the 17th and he said he had the wrong fax # and then he said the paperwork wasn't printing up and could I write him a formal letter cancelling the warranty. I went to the dealership on the 20th and spoke to Brian and gave him the cancellation letter he requested. He assured me he was going to "send the paperwork" upstairs and it would take "1-2 weeks" to have a check sent out. I called on the 28 of April to speak to the Assistant General Manager Cathy? someone. I left a message on her voice mail explaining the situation and never received a call back. It is now the 5th of May. I am due any day now and am so upset that this dealership is literally taking food and baby necessities out of my unborn baby's mouth by not returning our money. My blood pressure has increased and this is really stressing me out. I am going to file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the general manager of the dealership and the PSC owners of Oakland Honda AND with American Honda.

not a friendly place
the place was small, they have a very small selection to choose from, and the service they give you is...well i dont think im allowed to use that word. the sales person was very rude, cars salesmens are supposed to be pretty pushy i guess and trying to make you buy the car, but this guy was way overboard. he wasnt a bit helpful at all and trying to help you find a car that you would want to buy.

Rude salesman
I would never go back again to the Honda of Oakland. The salesman that assisted my husband and I was very rude. He kept pressuring has to buy a car that we wanted but in the wrong color. When we finally said we were going to leave he just gave has a nasty smirk and left. I would not recommend the place at all.

Honda of Oakland
The Honda dealership in Oakland is a relatively small store with just a few cars in their small showroom and a very small lot. The salespeople seem to care only to make a profit and were not at all helpful. I was very unhappy with the people I delt with and would not recomment anyone shopping for a Honda car to even bother going to this dealership.

Good cars, but hold your ground...
So they might not be wearing white leather shoes or sporting fake gold chains, but the salesmen at Honda on Broadway are the stereotypical used car salesmen. Im sure theyre all nice guys, and are knowledgeable of the cars they sell, but any place that doesnt list the asking price of a used car, and makes you wait for over five minutes back at the office while they talk to their manager is pretty sketchy. They use high-pressure sales techniques that leave you defensive and suspicious. Unless you know exactly what you want and how much you want to pay, or can resist the charms of the smoothest of used car sales people, think twice about purchasing a used car from here.
