Feel like having a great, yet depressing day? The Museum of Tolerance should be a mandatory stopping point for all students. I've only been a couple of times, but every time I go I see droves of people experience an emotional rollercoaster and undergo an experience of self reflection, spiritual cleansing, and deep rooted empathy. If you haven't gone, GO.

Pros: Well Designed, Thoughtful Exhibits, Inspires Action

Cons: Could be more thorough in covering some topics

I went here in the third grade, my teacher was really big on teaching tolerance. I must say it has stuck with me my whole life. The museum is so moving. There is a fake gas chamber and they put you in there turn off the lights and close the doors you watch a movie. It really freaked me out and made me realize what people must have felt in their last moments. The whole place is amazing. I don't if i would take very young kids, but it was a great experience.

This museum is a must see for anyone interested in the Halocaust. It provides detailed accounts of many events and gives personal stories of many Jews during the era. It was a very powerful museum and many people do end up walking out crying. I have visited there a few times as extra credit for school history classes and english classes (diary of anne frank).

This is an awesome musem. It seems that many schools bring kids here on a field trip, I wish my school had brought me here when I was a child. The museum teaches and informs about racism throughout history. In particular, it deals with the holocaust which is of particular interest to me. It is very moving and informative. Even if you are well-versed in the topic, I urge you to visit the museum as it makes things more real then simply reading books or watching videos on the subject from the comfort of your home.

PROS: informative, educational, great.
CONS: none

The Museum of Tolerance is famous for its contraversal exhibits such as the one with the gas killings of people.

It is indeed an eye opener though, and is an experience that should probably be experienced by everyone.

Anyone that lives in Southern California should see the intolerances that people went through.

I still think everyone needs to go to all museums, but if you dont' go to all of them, at least try to go to this one. While the museum is traditionally used a lot for school trips and for bringing kids who are "bad" to show them where not to go. Overall, this is a great museum to look at and just reflect on some of the troubled times in our past and reflect on them. A must see.

I went to the Tolerance Mueseum on a high school field trip and I was blown away by the information I acquired throughout the day. The images of the Holocaust felt so real that I was taken aback on this part of history. I think everyone should come here at least once just to be educated on what happened in the past.

PROS: Great Showcases, very believable!!
CONS:

Not only does it explore your own prejudices but it forces ou to view the United States and the bigotry within including the civil rights era. You are left understanding that the participation, by the "ordinary citizen," in Germany of the "Final Solution" was terrifying. That the plotting, planning and execution of mass murder occurred at all levels of German society. NO, this is not an outing meant to entertain but to educate. Pathetically, we were never taught most of what you will view. Your tour guide enhances the experience.

Pros: Educational, Insightful, Free parking

Cons: Viewing yourself, World's realities, PG-13 at least

I have been here several times with my students and it is always thought provoking. It is a hands on experience that challenges bigotry and racism and teaches an understanding of the Holocaust. Exhibits, documentations, photos all portray a time that shows mans inhumanity to man. The museum promotes tolerance and you will come away being moved by what you have seen.

A remarkably excellent exhibit with a tremendous amount of powerful information that will linger for days. You can't miss this and it should be mandatory for everyone to see and learn about. One of the most unforgetful parts is the holocaust exhibit. You follow a person thru stages of the holocaust and you find out in the end if the person lived or died. An experience you won't forget and a true eye opener.

Wonderful, Excellent and a Mind Opener. This is a must visit. It will be sure to have you thinking long after you've left the museum. It has very sensitive subject matter and it tells stories in the truest ways. I have brought 3 people over a 2 year period and every time I'm amazed at the new and unimaginable things I discover. Never the perfect time to go, but get there.

Great place to get the big picture on what happened during the Holocaust and other periods in history when people or governments tried to commit genocide. Not nearly as overwhelming as the National Holocaust museum in DC, this is a place to educate ourselves on what's history taught us and how we can act today to prevent history from repeating itself.

You do feel emersed in the experience of this dreadful and historical period, but it can be depressing. It is a great way to learn about the Holocaust for people of all ages and backgrounds, which I enjoy, but I don't think my other half will return, he found it overwhelmingly depressing.

Pros: history comes alive

This experience opened my eyes on how much prejudice existed and STILL exists. The displays and written histories of the Holocaust and our nation's history was couldn't have been done any better.
