We have purchased more than 10 appliances for 3 different homes from Western and have no complaints. Andy has helped us each time and has been very helpful and knows his stuff. He has never tried to over-sell us something. I know other people have complained about delivery, but we haven't had a problem. We did have major problems with a dishwasher and range purchased at Western, but it was a manufacturing issue. Western was more than helpful in assisting us in resolving the issue with Whirlpool/Kitchenaid. Glad we got their extended warranty! Off to Western now to buy another fridge for our new kitchen!

My boyfriend and I went to Western Appliance in early November to shop for a new dishwasher, stainless steel sink, disposal, microwave, gas range, and refrigerator. As we walked in the door, we told the pouncing salesperson, "We just want a quote. We do not want to buy today." We repeated this several times. At the end of our 90 minute search, the salesperson said he would provide a package deal discount with itemized prices. He asked me to fill out an application for a Western Appliance credit card. I was so exhausted, I agreed. He spent 45 minutes creating a quote and running my credit report. Finally, he laid the prices in front of me and said, "When would you like this delivered?" I replied, "We told you many times we just wanted a quote!!!" So he demanded that I pay him $10.00 to get the quote he had already processed. I gave him cash. His sales manager screamed at him from the desk, "ARE YOU PAYING FOR HER DEPOSIT?" and the salesperson screamed back, "No, she gave me cash!" Two weeks later, I got the Western Appliance credit card in the mail, that I had not wanted. I was so angry, I tore it up. They tried to push a sale on me. My advice -- go to the store to research the models but buy at University Electric.

I purchased a cook-top and rim from western appliance early December 2008 and was promised that it would arrive within two weeks (in time for Christmas). The items did not arrive within two weeks, we received no calls from Western Appliance, and I had to call many times and follow up in person, and we got different answers from different personnel. On one of our calls, we were told the cooktop arrived, but not the rim, then they called to say the rim arrived, but they had lost the cook top. In the end, over a month has passed and I still do not have either item. The store manager was incredibly rude, and to this day I still do not have the items I paid for. We do not like western appliance but were forced to buy from them because we could not find other stores in the San Jose area that sell older GE cook tops. I will try my best to never ever bring my business to Western Appliance again.

Stayed home one morning specifically to receive a deliver from them, and was surprised to find a 'We missed you - call to reschedule' card hanging from my screen door. The main door was open, we were home, the delivery person just never bothered to knock or ring the doorbell it seems. The sales people tried to be helpful, but couldn't offer another delivery for 3 days and said there was nothing they could do. I've had problems with delivery from other stores before, but it's always been resolved satisfactorily - this time it wasn't. I won't be going back there, and will be sure to tell my friends not to go there either. Stick with major appliance stores.

We saved quite a bit of money buying our new appliances here (fridge, washer, dryer). However, it took their delivery/install people three times to finally get things right. Not really pleasant to work with either. I probably wouldn't go back unless I was doing the delivery and installation myself.

We keep going back to this place as we are always treated well. The sales staff knows their stuff, and takes as much time as you need answering questions. To make a sale, they will generally offer you a small discount on the spot.
