I'm over a year down the road in this process and can write this calmly. First, my conclusion: I would never purchase from World Furniture again unless I saw the product, tested it and took it home at the time of purchase. If you can

We bought 3 kids bdrms from world furniture direct when it was on blackstone and herndon Aug 2008, first del 11/08 damaged, waited for another 3mos still nothing, not unitl credit charge disputed did they call and want to deliver, in Sept 09 delivery again was damaged, Oct 09 furniture delivered was the same furniture with very poor attempt at repair (rough paint spots, chips, screws protruding through front of dresser drawers, crooked drawers), so after over a year w/o furniture their manager told us we had two options, keep the furniture they delivered and will have it repaired at our home, or they will issue a refund less a 25% ($1000.00) restocking fee. Their policy even states in the event of defect they will replace asap. Nothing about a restocking fee. I declined their less than generous offer and advised him why would I pay them for making us go through this horrible experience. He said the furniture was fine and we were nitpicking. I took pictures of this junk they call furniture. Their general manager will not return our calls, the store managers are puppets and relay her responses, we have no furniture or our $4,000. I have filed complaints with the BBB which they are not a member of (so there's a clue) and I filed a complaint with the California Dept. of Consumer Affairs, I will also be filing a complaint with the Attorney Generals office as well, last resort will be small claims, as I have nothing for my money.
I urge anyone of thinking to buy from them to get it in writing and even at that length you may get the same experience. I wouldn' recommend doing business here.

On January 1, 2009, I purchased a sofa, I took it home, it lasted four days before the cushions broke down. I got the "run around" from several "managers" for over seven months. Finally I loaded the furniture up and brought it bak to the store on Shaw. The manager, Tammy, who also claimed to be the "owner" was very friendly and exchanged the sofa for another one. I was very happy with the treatment I finally received. However, the new sofa I got was no better, so I called her back and explained the situation, she refused to refund my money and told me that I would need to drive it back to Fresno, again, and they would sent it back to the manufacturer, I asked and received the phone number for the "new" manufacturer, only to find out that they went out of business. Now I own a piece of junk sofa with a five year warranty, and no manufacturer to back it. I will NEVER go back. Please BEWARE of this so called company. Please check them out before making any purchases. They have had several complaints and are not accredited.

When we made our purchase, we also made very specific arrangements to pick the sofa up after 5pm (when the warehouse closes, warehouse aka Shaw store) the next day. I made the 45 mile trek to pick up our purchase, but was very dissatisfied when the store manager Tah (also the person that rung us up and the person that confirmed that we would pick the sofa up before 8pm the next day), informed me that the warehouse was closed, and that we would have to come back another time. During the entire conversation, Tah was exceptionally rude and disrespectful. He also refused any refund, despite the fact that we had not, and were unable to receive the product that they had sold to me.

I have reviewed their standing with the Better Busines$ Bureau, which is at this time rated "F". The WORST rating available. I also have filed a complaint. Horrible customer service. I spent $1200 and they sold me some defective products. They would not even replace it unless I brought everything back which is more money out of pocket for me. The manager Nate kept hanging up on me and sending me to the fax machine when I called back. I asked to speak to his boss and he just said that he has the final say. I called the other store and spoke to Mike. He was not quite as rude but he still gave me the same run around. He claimed he would have the owner call me back. Today is 3/1/08. We will see if the owner actually calls back.
