The title says it all. It's not fancy but it's a great value and lots of fun. The margaritas make the wait for food go by fast.

Drove by it on a whim one day and decided to check it out. It is now THE go-to Mexican food restaurant for my wife and me. The salsa has some serious zip. The margaritas are tasty and the service is good. The tortillas are excellent (almost as good as Casablanca's). The inside decor is quirky, but fun...and almost always in the theme of whichever holiday is next...and frequently clashes with normal decor. But it's another thing that makes it great.

Paco's is pretty famouse in culver city. Their food is very good and the portions are just right. There is a fairly big celebrity draw there, I've seen Drew Carey come in and he actually bought drinks for everyone in the place, very cool.

That aside, it is a very homely environment to eat, they have a couple large aquariums in there which is a nice touch. Prices are reasonable, you really can't go wrong.

PROS: Good food, good prices
CONS: None

This Mexican place has been in business for over twenty years. The homemade flour tortillas will melt in your mouth. The food is good especially the enchilads and burritos. The wait staff have been around for several years and their service is fast and efficient. This place is packed on Friday and Saturday nights so we try to get there before 6pm. I think the food is better here than in their sister restaurant in Westchester. The downside to this place is the lack of parking- you can park across the street at B of A or on the street somewhere.

PROS: Good food and service
CONS: No parking lot

Paco's was recommended to me by my husband's cousin, and we went there and loved it. My husband doesn't even like Mexican food, and he liked what he got from there. The prices were very very reasonable. Make's me miss LA!

Plan on waiting for a while in the lobby, as they don't take reservations. But after a few margaritas, those fresh, authentic flour tortillas will be damn good! One of the few things I miss about the westside. BTW, it doesn't matter what entree you order, just get the tortillas!

This place is simply excellent. This place is not over rated in fact it's probably under rated. First of all, hats off to the super duper friendly staff and the down home feel of the joint. Now, I have to say that I know Mexican food since I grew up eating it practically daily. This place offers quality food at a low price. I'd be willing to pay alot more. You know a place is good when there is a line all the time. Don't be discouraged, wait it's well worth it. Very good tortillas too.
Go get it.

The food is so scrumptious here that people actually risk their lives to jaywalk busy Centinela avenue from the parking lot across the street, just to eat at Paco's Tacos!

You can't blame them, either. I was once on a quest for the best chicken enchiladas, and I found myself eating at Paco's. One bite of that zesty, flavorful sauce and the excellent melty cheese and that deeeeliciously seasoned chicken mingled with refried beans and rice to die for on the end of my fork, and I was in HEAVEN! To accompany my meal, I had a midori margarita (I was drinking at the time, I imbibe no more) that was perfect...never had another like it...and my lunch was on and crackin'!

Only really though...somebody's gotta do something about those jaywalkers. They dash into the street with their black evening attire (great spot for a date) and you can barely see them when you 're driving. PAco's Tacos stays open till a decent time...just late enough to grab a bite before you head out dancing, or after you've come back

The number 1 reason I've gained 15 pounds since moving into the neighborhood. I could eat healthy there, but the food's too damn good. There's always a wait, but there are margaritas and hot salsa, so the wait goes quickly.

Like a trip to old mexico, this restaurant has everything. Home made tortillas, excellent margaritas, great chips and salsa.

I tried many menu items and liked them all. Then I tried the shrimp in garlic butter, and I was hooked. Now that is all that I order.

Get there as early as you can. They fill up fast, and the best seats are up front. Avoid the tables in the back.

I have no idea why people like this place. The food is soupy and bland. They put canned vegetables on the rice and beans (yeah the little cut up squared ones that i ate when i was 5)

Most Mexican sit down restaurants in LA are just awful and overpriced. Maybe my tastes are more inclined to the tex-mex style restaurants of the mid west and east coast.

The lines can be long during dinner hours. The food is very good although we have noticed the prices creeping up quite a bit recently. The waitstaff is always attentive and the atmosphere is good with a Mexican family restruant feel. Parking is a hassle, only a few spaces in back and no parking at the restruant next door. You cant always count on the neighborhood streets and parking across the street at BofA is fine if you want to dodge traffic on Centinela.

It is good food and value, the kids love the aquariums.

It's been years since I have been there but have not forgot those incredible homemade tortilla's and marinated carrots! I had forgotten the name since I haven't been there in about 10 years. I tried finding it today since my hubby and I were in the area, we ended up at another restaurant that was good but not what I was hoping for. If the owner considers more locations I recommend Palmdale! A great area for new restaurants and lots of people. We need a Paco's Taco's out here. Pleeaase!

If you would like to have a chile relleno that is little bit different than usual, try this one. It is different in the kind of sauce or stew that is on it.

They have about 5 different kinds of calamari plates. They have excellent queso fundido. They have the best home made fresh tortillas in town. They are family owned and operated. The setting is unique and interesting, particularly if you don't mind being surrounded by many dead animal carcuses that are taxidermied.

Carne esada is great!

Rice is some of the best.

Cripy beef tacos are out of this world!!

Chips are very good.

Margaritas are highly acclaimed, but quite acidic and the price charged for the cadillac version is a bit too pricey.

After you have waited for your turn to take a table, you will get exceptionally speedy service. Food will come very quickly.

For basic mexican, fun atmosphere and value, this can't be beat. But the tortillas everyone raves about are not great. More like indian style paratha than tortillas. To thick, too greasy and too flour/yeasty.

It was just last friday night, we met a friend for dinner. Wait was maybe 10 minutes, good sign. We had a nice meal, and two pitchers of margaritas. No sooner had we paid the bill and I had just taken my last sip of margarita when the host appeared. He asked if we could leave as there was a line outside.

I have NEVER been asked to leave a restaurant and it's not like we were there for 3 hours not eating or drinking. We were embarrassed and walked out. The embarrassment ofcourse turned to anger. We will never go back.

Used to eat at all three Paco's Tacos, went to the one on Centinela this past Sat. - My combo plate was as I remembered, my husbands carne asada was not cooked medium and was poor quality meat with no flavor at all. Margarita's were good after they corrected them (no salt means no salt). What bugged us the most was the wait time and the seating of people arriving after us (seemed like they were regulars) Host was very friendly and chatted, he seated 4 parties ahead of us and other people waiting. When you sit for 30 plus minutes - you notice and that's just rude. Don't mind waiting if a restaurant is fair. We won't go back.

The salsa was perfect, the chips were perfect, the drinks were perfect, and the food was perfect. The tortillas are made fresh and make the meal. They have lots of unique dishes that are particular to mexican traditions giving it a little more to offer than the usual mexican restaurant. We didn't wait long for our table and the service was amazing. They even spoke spanish back to me even though I am not fluent which is always a confidence booster! The spices were so yummy in the dishes we had and I can't wait to go back.

Go here about every week. It's a local's favorite place - gets a mixed crowd - but always a good sign when loved by LA's Mexican immigrant community and decendents!

Great service from the moment you are seated. Heck, even before - they bring chips and salsa to the waiting area when the wait gets long.

Busy - well - always. Expect a wait at dinner, but they move quickly and efficiently. Lunch on weekends - get there before 12:30 and you're fine. If not, it might be a few minutes. BUT WELL WORTH IT. If you can't wait, get takeout at Pepe's down the street at Culver & Centinella.

Chips are good (Gilbert's and El Tepeyec's are better). Salsa is AWESOME. I drink the stuff. Can be hot. Ask for the carrots when you sit down (free). Chips and Salsa will also be refilled over and over again.

Everything here is great - burritos are perhaps the specialty. The FLOUR TORTILLAS are the best in LOS ANGELES! Get a side order to munch on. They make them fresh right there for you to watch.

Great decor - changes with the seasons. A must for LA visitors and residents.

Really and truly, the best flour tortilla's north of the border and west of Arizona. They are so hot and tender with just enough salt and love put into them. I suggest the fajita's. No fancy show off fajita's here, just great flavor. The margarita's taste like margarita's. Not lemon juice with a squirt of tequila. Full on flavor at this place. Ask for the marinated carrots when, they bring the chips to your table. It is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have found in LA. The Albondigas is great, too. It is seasoned, brothy, and served with the flour tortilla's. Try it and you'll see, it is all good.

So, after using Citysearch to help me find many quality restaurants, I decided to go ahead and join the cause. Paco's Tacos was good enough to make me want to write my first review. So here goes. First off, I read some earlier reviews about parking issues. I have to say, we had no problems with this. The restaurant is directly in front of a residential area, so I assume that there can be parking issues, but we got there pretty early in the evening (around 6ish), with 3 different cars, and we all found parking spots right next to the restaurant. The service was good and fast. The waiters were very attentive with refills but not overbearing. The decor was a little tacky, but many Mexican restaurants are the same, and it is kind of cool to see them making fresh tortillas in front of you (which are yummy by the way!). The food overall was great too. My boyfriend, who is not such a huge fan of what he calls "Californian" Mexican food, was impressed. He said his chimichangas were great. I had a chicken taco and the meat was white and fresh. The only possible down side is that the prices are just a tad high in my opinion. Most of the entrees are in the $12-$14 range. For Mexican food, this can seem a little overpriced, but being that the food is so good, I believe it's worth it. I would definitely recommend Paco's Tacos.

We were huge fans of Paco's when they were located on Lincoln Boulevard on the Marina/Playa border and were heartbroken when it burned down. Have visited both the Centinela and Manchester boulevard locations often since then, and the food is as consistently as good as we remember. The salsa on the tables is HOT, but it goes great with their still-warm corn chips. Fresh flour tortillas for dunking in the enchillada sauce with my favorite combo plate (#13), makes us venture to Paco's both weekend mornings for a hangover brunch or at night for an early dinner. Highly recommend.

They know how to do it right here at Pacos! Everything is great , including the friendly but busy service. Expect a wait most days as the place is small and popular. You will be happy you triend Pacos and possibly the best Mexican food you have ever had North of the border. Margaritas are a nice touch as well.

I consider myself quite the connoisseur of margaritas and I can state with authority that the Paco's Tacos cadillac margarita is the greatest margarita in LA... perhaps the world. Their tortillas are also indescribably amazing - order the queso fundido to get your share. I wish they had a bar so I could stop in just for the margaritas and not feel guilty about holding a table. Indeed, if they had either a bar or a patio, I would never leave.

Be warned that on weekends you can end up waiting over an hour for a table.

There are a few Paco's locations but the Centinela one is the best. I haven't been to the Paco's on Manchester but that is because a great deal of close friends of mine that have been to the Paco's on Manchester said that the food was nasty and not even close to the taste as the one on Centinela.
I like to start off my dinner with the Queso Fundido which is a cheese fondue with fresh warm flour tortillas that are prepared infront of you. This appetizer is perfect for the cheese lover. My favorite dish is the Burrito Especial. This burrito is huge and I love to order it becaus I know I'll have some left over that I can take home with me and enjoy later that evening at home if I had it for lunch earlier that day or take if for lunch at work.

There are a few Paco's locations but the Centinela one is the best. I haven't been to the Paco's on Manchester but that is because a great deal of close friends of mine that have been to the Paco's on Manchester said that the food was nasty and not even close to the taste as the one on Centinela.

HANDS DOWN THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN LA, IF NOT THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES!
I eat there all the time. Favorites include: the chips and salsa, camerones mojo de ajo, pacos burrito, chile relleno, flour totillas, guacomole, and enchiladas.

This place shares the name and logo of another Paco's in Westchester. Hard to believe it could be owned by the same people, because the Westchester location is far superior! Bigger portions, tastier food. Stay away from Centinela; head to Manchester Ave in Westchester for far better food.

I'll start with the good things. The margaritas are good. The decor is colorful. The homemade tortillas are tastier than the factory-made ones. I had the enchilada and chile relleno combination which were good but not extraordinary. It is unfortunate that Paco's does not use authentic Mexican cheese to stuff the peppers, instead using Monterey Jack. A problem that I had with the food is that the rice was soggy and lacked any flavor. My friend had the two taco combination. The tacos were so greasy that he could only eat one before he started feeling nauseous. The tortillas for the tacos were fried and the meat was oily. Even the lettuce and carrot shavings that they put in the tacos were not enough to counter the greasiness of the tacos. We have been to really good and authentic Mexican restaurants and Pacos is neither. We will not be back.

I was turned on to this restaurant by my new brother. The restaurant decor itself is old school mexican however, once you try their flour or corn tortillas made fresh right in front of everyone in the resturant, you wont believe your taste buds. The carne asada is out of this world!!

My wife and I found this joint right after we moved here and have been indulging ever since. This is really good, dow-and-dirty style Mexican food.

The margaritas are great. No sweet and sour mix here! The enchiladas and tacos are = great. Service is friendly and quick. The decor is not much, but with the food & margaritas you will never notice!

I've been going to Paco's since I was a little girl in the 70's and it was just a little take out place. I still love it now and have been going regularly for all these years. The food is consistently great! Try the carnitas plate or the albondigas soup, my two favorites. The melon margaritas are delicious if you're looking to have a strong drink. The homemade tortillas are beyond delicious.
My only complaint is that even though I've been going with my family for years, the host is really unfriendly. He rarely cracks a smile.

I think this is a good restaurant, but not good enough to be nominated for best of. I like Los Tacos in West Hollywood better.

We were seated within a reasonable amount of time. I can't believe how fast the food arrives at your table! I had the carne asada steak and enchilada plate. The steak was very tender and great inside their homemade flour tortillas.

Then only drawback is that the waiter didn't check on our drinks during our meals. My husband would have ordered another drink had they checked on us. Otherwise, prompt service.

all i have to say is that you have to... I mean HAVE TO! Order the "Calamar Steak Alcapulco". its heaven on a plate and the best thing on the menu. a flat tender steak of calamari battered and covered with a mushroom vegetable garlic sauce... woah nelly you could just die happy cause its so so good! the hot, fresh flour tortillas are great with the appetizer "queso fundido" which is melted cheese with a bit of chorizo on top, the blended margaritas are served up in carafes that are good for 4 people, i'd suggest the blended mango-rita, its not strong but its tasty... great atmosphere and usually packed around dinner time whether its weekday or weekend... it might be a wait for a table but i think its worth the wait... and if you cant wait just take your food out, the take out is pretty quick.

Pros: Calamar Steak!, Mangorita!, Tasty Tortillas

Cons: Very busy dinner hrs., parking sucks, parking really sucks

In my opinion, this is run of the mill Mexican food...not as good as some of the reviewers state, but not bad. But if you have to wait for more than five minutes for a table, it is absolutely not worth it. The service is with indifference. They appear to be very smug at the restaurant's success over many years, and this is reflected in the service. The parking is atrocious, another reason it is not worth it.

The food is very good here. The ambience is excellent too, although hard to describe. You'll have to go there yourself and experience it.

The only complaint I have, other than parking, is that service is mixed. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's despicable. Once, my waitress only came by to take the order and I never saw her again. I had to call on others for things that I needed. Needless to say, I did not leave her a tip (something I rarely ever do). Although it is a romantic place, it was my girlfriend's first time here and she does not want to return. So be careful.

Careful with the salsa, though, it can be quite spicy for some.

I took my wife here on our first date over 20 years ago. It was great then, it's great now! The food is superb and the waiters are friendly. Their litre of marguerita's is great, too, and won't break the bank. The atmosphere is Mexican funk-clutter, but who cares when the food is this good.
I now live in the SF Valley, but sometimes, on a Saturday, will zip over the hill for a great meal.

The only drawback is the wait for a table--though you can order a margarita in the foyer while you wait. The fish dishes are their specialties but they do the "basics" really well too. Service is quick (which they have to be to turn tables) and friendly. And the margaritas can be lethal so either have a designated driver or limit yourself.
