1 Stars: Pet Junction is a horrible place by elizabeth b (by elizabeth b.)

Horrible place to shop. I believe the cats are rescue cats, but the puppies are "backyard breeders" or puppy mill. I was buying dog food and took my dog in with me. They brought kittens in though the front door during business hours and were talking about how they all had fleas. Why not bring them in through the back?
It always seems to be an imposition on them to ring up my sale. I rarely go there. preferring Wild's which is just down the street. I only go to Pet Juction when Wild's is out of what I need and I wil not be going back after that last girl was so rude.

5 Stars: Pet Junction is one of the best pet stores around! (by Alisa B.)

I am a frequent shopper of quite a few pet stores as I have 4 dogs and 2 cats. Pet Junction is one of my favorites as they only carry good quality foods and their prices are either comparable or lower than the other stores I shop at. The staff goes out of their way to help you and make sure that you are satisfies with your purchases. Nicole has given me incredible deals and I can tell that she values my business.

I will be back!!!

4 Stars: Pet Junction (by michelle d.)

My husband and I just bought our second puppy "Leo", a purebred Maltese, 6 weeks ago from Pet Junction. The first puppy we purchased is a Malti-Poo named Sophie. She is 7 mos. old; beautiful, smart and in perfect health. Nicole referred me to a South Orange County Pet Care Center where both of my dogs had a complimentary physical performed by a well renowned D.V.M. His academic background consists of Neuroanatomy & Clinical Neurology, Health & Disease, Cell Biology & Genetics, strong diagnostic skills with an extensive science-based background. We would like to express our gratitude and admiration for the owner of Pet Junction. The grand opening in June of this year, was informative and we had a chance to meet the reps for most of the product lines they carry. The employees are very informed of all products in the store and it is my observation that they are willing to give personal attention and advice to each customer. I would recommend their services to anyone. M. Driscoll

2 Stars: Pet Junction is not so good (by Annie Q.)

I bought a puppy in May 09; he had a cold but PetJunction paid all his vet bills till he was better. The girl who sold him to me was very helpful but not there enough. I think they did lie about his first round of shots but can't prove it. I love the puppy we got; he is beautiful and people stop to admire him all the time. However I will not shop at PetJunction anymore. I was buying everything for my dog there and I was buying tons of stuff. My 8 yr old daughter loves the puppies they seem to always have. Every time we go in and she holds one the owner gets so pissy and mad. She seems to have this look on her face..."unless your going to buy it put it down". She always looks like she just finished sucking on a lemon. She may be an animal person but she is not a people person. My daughter still asks to go but I refuse to be treated like trash. Also since I bought my puppy there... when I was going into the store...it smells terrible and the puppies are dirty. One day they had no water so we told Nicole; she told me she wanted it that way because they pee everywhere. Crazy! I think I got lucky with my pup but I would never recommend shopping there.

1 Stars: Something fishy (by SOME O.)

I've read all of these reviews and came to one conclusion. Most of the 5-star reviews seem to be done by the owners themselves, signing up and putting up new posts with different names.

The reviews are specific and very knowledgeable about the business rather than by experience as a shopper. They are defensive as well. We do online marketing as our job - it is quite easy to tell when the owners are pretending to be customers reviewing their own business.

I will say that it is very hard to believe that the reviews can be 5 stars because we have shopped there a few times ourselves. And trust me, it is not friendly. In fact, their staff always seem like they do not want to be there..slouching over the counters with their eyes half-way open.

Do read the 1 star reviews. They are from genuine customers because their explanations are non-specific scenarios and coming from the heart. Very sad to hear such poor service.

1 Stars: Pet Junction is lying about their business practices (by Hanna J.)

I bought a 2 month old Chihuahua puppy there in March of 09, and they lied to me about having records of the dogs shots. They said they gave all the puppy shots themselves (even though they are NOT veterinarians and have one located right next door! ) They said they would look for the records and I kept having to call and come back to try and get them. Well, they never "found" them, because they never did them! So my poor baby only had her rabies shot, which I paid to get from my local vet and now have to get all here booster shots myself and pay another couple hundred dollars. They said they rescued these dogs, but they were obviously from the same litter and a very nice breed at that. They are passing off puppymill puppies as ones that they "rescued" They are liars and will say anything to sell a poor puppy, at the cost of its own health. Stay away!!

1 Stars: THREE WORDS... (by C L.)

Puppy Mill Dogs!!!

How can anyone with a conscience shop at a store like Pet Junction when they sell pets that are undoubtedly from PUPPY MILLS. If you don't know what those are and/or don't believe that this pet store (like all others) sells dogs like these, you NEED to educate yourself, period!!! www.stoppuppymills.org PLEASE and save yourself the heartache of taking home a poorly bred animal that is afflicted with a health and/or behavioral problem!!!

5 Stars: Jen F. (by Jen F.)

First of all, I know times are hard but how could someone want to try to ruin someone Else's life? You people are very low and it is truly sad. I have been shopping at Pet Junction since before Nicole has taken over and I have to say that I have never met anyone more dedicated in my life. She tries to please everyone. She has completely turned the store around and it is looking great! If there is ever something she doesn't have in stock she goes to great lengths to accommodate. She is knowledgeable and has the biggest heart. She wants to rescue all the animals in the world while being a wife and a mom as well. I don't know many people who can handle being the kind of person she is. As for the sick puppies, that's life, for lack of a better term, sh*t happens. Just because someone of you are having a tough time do no take it out on a kind, generous, caring person like Nicole who takes the time to talk to and help every person that walks through the door, not to mention her great knew staff!I would never, ever go anywhere else .

4 Stars: Always Helpful (by Beryl J.)

The owner of this establishment has always gone out of her way to help rescue animals. She goes to the shelter and selects dogs and puppies who need to be saved. When she started running the business she discontinued buying the dogs from the puppy mills. She knows a lot about animals, and is one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever known. She would do anything to save an animal.

1 Stars: pet junction nearly killed my dog (by Natalie G.)

I bought a puppy from pet junction and when i did the manager promised me that she was qualified to give shots to the dogs and that she would do the second set of shots on the puppy. So i took the puppy home with me and we set up a date for a week later. I am from San Diego so i drove all the way back to orange county on a Saturday to get the shots. I got there and the manager was no where to be found. The only working sales clerk there called her several times on her cell phone but she just kept hanging up on the poor girl. 2 hours later the manager finally showed up, but still did not help me. Another woman had dropped off her dog to get groomed 3 hours prior and the manager was the only one qualified to groom the dog and had 5 minutes to do so before the woman came to get her dog so she tended to that first, while completely ignoring me. When she finally got to me she blamed me for not remembering the date properly (which was ridiculous) and gave my puppy his second series of puppy shots. I took him to my parents house in orange county for a bit to let him rest after his shots and 2 hours later he started throwing up all over the place. I was nervous (this was my first puppy and i wasn't sure what to do), so i called back the manager at the store and she told me to bring him in. When i did, she gave him sugar water and informed me that i almost killed my puppy and he would've died if i hadn't brought him back to her. What i later found out was that she was not an actual vet and was definitely not qualified to give ANY shots to ANY dogs or puppies. This is why my poor pup was throwing up, because the crazy lady over medicated him. Bottom line is they had terrible customer service, the manager made me wait 2 hours and then blamed her being late on me, and she almost killed my brand new pup and again, blamed the situation on me. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If the manager is lying about her qualifications in situations that could be life-threatening then who can you trust to be professional there?

5 Stars: Clarity (by Lenny C.)

To Ms Fiona and any other confused people concerning the puppies with parvo! Unfortunately the puppies that were rescused had parvo and there was nothing Nicole or anyone else at the store could've done to help those puppies survive! The puppies were all checked by a vet and it was discovered they were sick afterwards. She and her family stayed at the store during the christmas holidays for a few nights doing what they could to help the puppies survive to no avail. The store has since been inspected by animal control services and the store has been given the okay to continue business. The store will now specialize in specific breeds of dogs and cats per the customers request. The store also rescues animals from the shelter as was the case with the puppies that had parvo.

5 Stars: Educate yourselves (by Mo M.)

This is in response to all the idiotic (Fiona) people who think for one second that buying a dog from a reputable breeder will some how guarantee the health of their pure bred. I know many people who have purchased dogs from well known breeders to end up with dogs with rare cancers and other ailments. Just because you know the line of the animal does not mean that these dogs will be healthy for life. Why do you think most breeders only give a one year health guarantee, because in most cases issues will arise later on in the dogs life span. For example, a friend of mine bought a Siberian Husky and five years later was putting her to sleep because of an aggressive untreatable cancer. So wake up people and educate yourselves before you make uneducated accusations.

1 Stars: Parvo Puppies (by Fiona H.)

Don't buy a puppy from here, they recently had a litter with parvo in the store. Pet stores should not be selling puppies, buy from a reputable breeder who has done health screenings of the parents and who you can contact after you buy the puppy if you have any questions about the animal and who will be interested in their progress.

5 Stars: One of the best pet stores. (by Coo M.)

I have also been shopping at pet junction for years. Even before the new ownership. I too have seen a huge amount of progress in both the staff and their knowledge in the products and puppies they sell. They staff is also super friendly and helpful. As for the puppies there, i know for a fact that they DO NOT come from puppy mills. I have even purchased 2 dogs from them, both a mix breed and pure breed. The previous review writers who gave this store a bad rating really don't know what they are talking about. They are probably old and bitter at life and have nothing better to do besides finding things to gripe and complain about. Yes this pet store sells puppies and sometimes kittens but they only carry maybe 10 at a time witch make is easy for the staff to take care them. Pet Junction is also the only store I have ever been in that takes their puppies out of their kennels and puts them in a exercise pens so they can run and stretch their legs. In conclusion, Pet Junction is one of the best and friendliest pet stores in southern California.

Must Visit.

4 Stars: Knowlegable and Helpful (by Sarah m.)

I have been shopping a pet junction in laguna niguel even before the new owner had taken over, and I see a vast improvement. The staff helped me pick out a food for my dog with kidney disease and helped me find products for my new kitten. I have purchased a pure breed dog from them as well as a mix. I have had both of them for about 2 years now. I know for a fact that there puppies DO NOT come from puppy mills because with both of my puppies pet junction gave me the breeders name and address. In which I was able to contact the breeder and even got to receive additional information about them. I am very please by this store and there willingness to help. I had gone to other pet stores and breeders to find a puppy but no one offered the health guarantee that Pet Junction was offering. I think the previous writer did not know what she was talking about, or was just a mean hearted person.

1 Stars: AWFUL (by kassidy l.)

It's such a shame that this store has taken the route it has. Years ago, I used to be a frequent shopper of Pet Junction because it was one of the few stores that carried nutritious, "natural" petfood. Yet, in recent years, I was appalled to see that they had begun selling puppies and kittens. Right then and there, I made a promise to myself that I didn't want to support a store that supported the puppy mill industry. The puppies, not to mention, are unusually small for their breed(which probably makes them easier to sell), and appear weak. They sell the fashionable "designer" breeds such as malti-poos and puggles, yet the true "purebred" dogs don't quite resemble their breed...though the dogs mostly carry the characteristics and traits of the breed they are sold for, any knowledgeable person should be able to tell that there was something unusual, awkward, and different about the puppies. Their cute, but I doubt their 100% pure if you trace back into their lines.

Anyways, their customer service, if you could even call it that, is AWFUL. They used to have better, mature, knowledgeable staff but NOT ANYMORE. I don't mind that the staff consists of teenagers, but they really don't have any more animal knowledge than the common customer...which doesn't help. It's the attitude of the staff that really ticks me off. They are lazy and unwilling to help their customers AT ALL. I am extremely upset, and have now made a vow to NEVER, EVER step foot inside Pet Junction ever again. I'd rather drive the 20 extra minutes to go to the other, natural petstores.

4 Stars: Pet Junction for dogs with food allergies (by Dee B.)

My dog suffers from allergies and I was given a specific list of foods he was able to eat. I searched on line for hours and went several places and found Pet Junction carried 5 of the brands I needed. The staff was very helpful to me and even read labels with me helping me find treats my dog could eat. They have sample bins which were helpful and allowed me to buy the small bag of dry food and confirmed they would exchange it for another brand if my dog didn't like it. I go to Pet Junction a couple times a month and the staff is always polite and helpful. It was a hard transition for my dog but so far he loves the food. If your dog suffers allergies or is on a restricted diet I highly recommend Pet Junction, they have a good selection of high quality food and the staff is willing to help you find what you need.
