We took our 2007 New Beetle to have roof and rear post damage fixed.
They finished on schedule a week later - but failed to fix the damage to the rear right post. This required another call to Geico, another trip back to Douglas who kept us there an hour to quote us an additional $995 to fix the post - they said they somehow missed it in the initial estimate.
We left the car, got anotherr rental car for a week. They called the next day to say they fixed the post scratches without having to repaint and the car was ready.

Driving home from Douglas I noticed the sunroof dial in the ceiling of the VW was mounted wrong. It was not even close ti be aligned properly. I reached up to turn the dial and the entire sunroof dial plastic panel literally fell out of the roof.

We saw that Douglas had broken no less than three of the four two of the tabs that hold the clips into the VW roof. Instead of simply replacing the completely ruined $20 panel, they tried to glue each clip back together and we found gobs of glue all over the inside of the broken tabs.
This kind of blatant dishonesty over a $20 dollar plastic panel absolutely amazed us. It would have been wrong on any vehicle much less our brand new car.

Additionally we had so much wind coming into the car from the passenger side door - I discovered they had not sealed the weather strip or the cloth covering back into the door channel and it was hanging loose. The cloth covering the weather stripping came back with pick snags, grease stains and some kind of permanent glue or chemical spots on it.

We went back to Douglas where they smile a lot but did not apologize and the only explanation was "we contract out the electrical work. Sometimes it's bad."

To date we have made FOUR trips to Douglas and still do not have the replacement panel that they broke, despite being promised "it will be here tomorrow."

I have hours literally of calling them and four trips from our home 20 miles away to get them to do what they should have the first time.

By far the most dishonest, poor service we've ever encountered. (Smiling endlessly at upset customers doesn't solve anything, ladies) Think hard before trusting them with your car - they proved to us they are not honest enough to even repair the damage they create, especially if they don't think you'll find out about it.

i just had my 1999 Tahoe repaired by Douglas Auto Body and i have to tell you they did a fantastic job on my car. when i picked up my car it was better than new. i am very happy with the quality of service they provided. great job everyone keep up the great work.

Talk about being pampered. When the Volvo was wrecked, they gave a realistic estimate to the insurance. Wayne, our service rep walked us through, helped me with the stuff in/out of the old car (removing bike racks), etc. Went back with our Saab 9-3 and they did a great job again. Customer support was great from start to finish.

I have had bad experiences with repair shops in the past so I am always a little cautious. Not here! They did an excellent job on two separate occasions, once for a front bumper repair, and again for a back bumper repair. The car looks like new, and I am truly impressed. The service is great. The work is great. The price is comparable to or better than competitors'.

PROS: Everything you would want from an auto body shop.

I learnd about Douglas Auto Body & Paint here at insiderpages.com, and decided to take in my overpriced SUV to re-repair a bad repair job of a minor dent. Suffice it to say that I very strongly recommend them. Their customer service is excellent, their estimates are reasonable and accurate, and the quality of their job was top notch. This is a family-owned business, and they treat you that way.

I definitely recommend this Body Shop. I went here after I got in a car accident, and they did a great job fixing my rear bumper. Plus, the mechanics were very honest and told me that they noticed that the prior shop work I'd had done was not a good job. I was completed satisfied with the work. They were great about taking my car insurance and getting me a rental car. Luckily, the place is conveniently located near an Enterprise Rent-a-Car shop. Also, the salesman was so nice that he offered to do free touch ups on my paint while my car was in the shop. I would definitely go back to this place for repair work.

I had Douglas replace both of my bumpers. They are very good at keeping you informed and doing what they say they will. They also found some damage that was outside of the estimate, fixed it, and still charged me the amount they had originally estimated.

I learned about this business on Insider Pages so I called and set up an appointment for an estimate with Douglas as well as 2 others from the Insider Pages directory. Douglas came in with just about the best estimate, but I had a great feeling after stopping by for an estimate. The place was very clean and well kept and they seemed to be very on top of the customer flow. I delt with Peter every time and he took great care of me. They arranged for Enterprise to come pick me up. (a nice feature to note- they can be a drop off location after 6 pm).

My one and only complaint (a very small one) is that they make a point of showing you all the other small body issues (paint nicks, minor dents) that they will get to if they get a chance. The problem is that I was dissapointed to find that they never got to it. I noticed that the same thing happened to another customer. If I were Douglas, I would simply touch up the small issues and then tell the customer if you were able to do so- that way it is always a good suprise.

Other than that, I was very pleased. They were very timely and paid great attention to detail. They even called to let me know that they expected it to be ready within 24 hours. Many body shops call you when it is done, and it doesn't allow for any planning on your part to coordinate the drop off of the rent car/pick up of your car.

I just got my Land Rover Discovery bumper replaced here after someone scratched it up while I was parked. The repair turned out beautifully, and they fixed a few other minor scratches on my car for free. Everyone at Douglas was professional and efficient. They have a relationship with Enterprise so getting your rental is easy.

Douglas Auto Body did a very good job on my Audi and did the work on time and for the best price that I could find -- lower than two other shops.
At my request, they even tried to find used/lower cost parts to use.
I would certainly use them again and would recommend them highly.

I chose Douglas Auto Body after checking out a number of shops to fix my rear-ended station wagon.

While waiting for an estimator, I started to wandered around the shop. An employee saw me wandering around and then took me on a quick walk-around tour of the entire facility. Seeing the shop and the works-in-progress there, I felt confident about the shop.

Douglas Auto Body did the most thorough job of reviewing the car and asking me questions. Their estimator spotted damages that others missed. And he thoroughly explained what they would do with my car.

Douglas is a "COB" shop for Farmer's insurance (i.e., preapproved) -- so that was the final plus.

I left the car with them for a week, and was completely satisfied with the work.

There was one (minor) disappointment -- my front bumper had a significant scrape that needed touching up. When I dropped off the car, I was told they would do some touch-ups for free. But that hadn't been done when I picked up the car.

They did a decent job fixing my convertible top. A couple of the screws were stripped, though, and it's never been as good as my original top.

They were very friendly and my car was ready on time. I didn't get a free rental, like some of the other reviewers did. Convenient location.
