A nursery meant for those who seek the best quality at the best value. To drive to this middle of nowhere place, one must literally needs that reassurance that the drive was worth the time and effort - for me, it was well worth it. After spending so much time in designing and labor to plant, I did not want to face planting trees and shrubs of questionable quality.
As it was, after several months in the ground - each and every plant has flourished and thrived. No regrets.
Again, it is worth the drive for the serious gardener.

Matsuda's Nursery, has always been a pleasure for me when I shop there. It makes for a wonderful outing. And,once you step inside the grounds you will be amazed of the diversity of the different plants, shrubberies and trees. I am glad they kept their lease.

No...Matsuda's did not lose their lease. They will go whsl in the future.. They want to concentrate on growing. Another Retail nursery will take over/same staff though Probably the only difference will be a new name. They did in no way lose their lease. I know that business is going to be as usual and they have their onion sets and already have the signs up for Christmas Tree sales.

Their lease came due & they decided not to renew, so the icon on Jackson hwy will be gone by the end of the year. The place has really gone down hill over the last couple of years, anyway.

i love matsuda's nursery. we've been going their ever since i was a kid. i can say there isn't a rose bush in my garden that wasn't purchased at matsuda's.this is an expansive place with a lot of knowledgable and helpful people on staff. not only do they carry roses, but they have a vast array of lilies, camellias, rhododenrons, azaleas, as well as some "exotic" indoor plants (an interesting collection of orchids). it's located on that part of jackson road before it becomes the "freeway". it's not difficult to find because there aren't too many businesses out there. i highly recommend before starting your planting to visit matsuda's they'll definitely steer you in the right direction.

PROS: selection and staff
CONS:
