This place is horrible. I have taken my pets there on three times in an emergency of sorts because they were close and open. All three times I was not happy with the way they treated the pets and the cost was out of this world.
On January 28,2011 I decided it may be time to put my 20 year old cat to sleep. I called to discuss this with them. The first conversation the girl knew nothing and was no help. I was going to take the cat to her vet in Long Beach. I wish I had. I called back and talked to someone else who did answer all of my questions and assured me they would make this as easy as possible for the cat and myself. My cat always got stressed at the vets and I wanted this to be as easy on her as possible.
The vet assistant that came it obviously did not know what I was there for and honestly seemed to be a bit of an idiot.
Although the DR that handled it was kind and answered all my questions and seemed to handle this with some compassion I did feel better about things when I left.
One question I had was how the ashes were to be handled. They had told me the ashes could be shipped to my home, I was concerned they could be lost so I had asked if they were hand delivered to Banfield or were they shipped to them as well. I clearly told them if they shipped the ashes to them to have them shipped to me. If they were hand delivered I would come and pick them up.
Tonight 9 days later I called because I had not heard from Banfield nor had I recieved anything via UPS. The person answering the phone was the same person I initially spoke to who did not know anything. Nothing had changed. Basically I threw a fit and she called the Dr at home and asked her about it. Suddenly she found where the girl that handled the cremation had "documented where she had called me on two occasions and there was no answer or answering machine." I had the person I was speaking to verify the number as my cell phone, the only phone I have. She further informed me my poor cat was still there, nothing had been done with her. I am so furious, I cannot believe this. Nobody ever called me. There is nothing in my call logs, I got nothing in the mail from them either.
Had I known my cat was going to sit in a freezer there for over a week I would have never taken her there. I would have made the trip to Long Beach from Fontana. There is no compassion for animals or their owners at Banfield. Due to the late hour I have to call and complain to the office manager. Now how can I trust it will be my cats ashes I get back..... How long will it take. They have prolonged something that was extremely hard for me to do and made it a nightmare...

Do not go there for anything. to be blunt THEY SUCK BIG TIME.

This service is located inside Petsmart, which is really convenient because you can do your pet shopping and receive pet services all in one building.

The staff has always been very friendly not just to me but to my dog and so I love taking him here.
